Problems Killing Tanova

This is it!
i finally need your help guys!
Lets be rank about this. The shapeshfter overall is bloody difficult to lay sometimes.
I have got stuck and would like your helpas to what i could do!(especially my buddies earl grey (tea boy) and Nobleman)

I am on he final job for Aran linvail. I have killed the vampire gellal (he was very easy with he amulet of power equipped)
But now i can't kill tanova.
I have cast chaotic command and death ward so i am protected against most of her stuff.
But then she casts millions of protective spells and kills me with chain lightning.
I have tried summoning the most powerful creatures availible but they get killed or stunned imadiatley.
Without this advancement there wil be an abrupt end to the story!
HELP!!!!

 

ive been there recently just get ur thief on hide shadows and then backstab her! really fun to watch her blow up.

 

what level are you? if you're not level 13 (greater werewolf change) you try waiting till you are. If you are, then, ehm...

I can remember her, she's a real mean bitch. Potion of invis and just walk past her and kill lassal. I dont tihnk you actually need to kill her, though this I'm definately not sure of.

I am going as a solo shapeshifter!
No theives, no mages, no fighters.
Just a druid who can't where armor and with only 40 hit points!
Don't worry i have completed this bit hundreds of times with a party or other solo characters!

Thats a good point! I think i might go and get the 200000 exp i need at the umar hills and then get back here. Unless of course it does not matter if i leave her. Anyone know for sure?????

About the low hit points, have you tried to get hold of that belt that boosts your constitution to 18 (I'm assuming your con is lower than that with so few hp). At least that way you'll be a little bit tougher for most of the day. I can't remember the details of the belt but i think it is the girdle of fortitude that you get from Gaal, the Prophet of the Unseeying Eye cult in the sewers.

Also, do undead scrolls protect you against these vampires? Or what about the mace of disruption with its chance to kill undead in one strike. Again I'm not sure if it works againts these vamps. Or what about some dispel magic arrows to get rid of some of her protection. Or how about triggering the dialogue, running away, using an invisability potion and then sneaking up on her to get the first strike in (maybe waiting for her protection to wear off first). There must be lots of options. Just thought of another, your a druid so you can use that wand (of the heavens? I think)for Priests and Druids that calls down holy flame on the targets (can't remember where it is though). Anyway, don't give up (you won't be able to justify the 'experienced BG2 player with greater ability' tag that you gave yourself in another recent post ), there's always a way even if it just means being lucky

The only problem with protection from undead scrolls is that with them you are effectively u=insible to vampires, and if a vampire only goes hostile after saying something to you, your screwed. As he's going solo, he'd have to wait for the scroll to run out before he could kill them, unless you kills them when they're blue.

 

First of all to tal: Did yu change my title because i am not having trouble killing Bodhi. it is actually one of her minions!

As for slappy's comments:
This is why i think shapeshifter is more difficult to play solo than Wizard slayer.
First of all i can't use maces.
Nor can i use bows so arrows are out of the question.
The girdle will be hard to get because the unseeing eye quest is much harder than the one i am on now!
attacking from invisibility might work though.......hmmmmmmmmm.
And as for your experienced question:
You try playing a solo shapeshifter!!!!!!!
Though i am sure i shall find a way.This battle is merely a challenge that i shall probably overcome by tommorrow!!!

 

I assume that you have tried Insect plague to interupt her spell casting.

Have you tried protecting your summoned creatures with chaotic command and so on?

 

Also try scrolls or spells of protection from lightening before the battle too. The insect plague idea is also a good one.

 

why not try running in and out as fast as possible just to trigger her defenses after that just take a run at her.
Or do you have horn of valhalla or spider statue? If you do use em as cannon fodder so she wastes offensive spells.
Ive done this on solo games.

 

Yes stand far away and summon creatures from minute to mínute. Let them attack one by one. Let her waste her agressive spells on them.

To hit her I would suggest to buy a +4 weapon, perhaps staff of Rynn.

Potions are important here. Minimum is Potion of fortitute(I CANT REMEMBER THE NAME!!) (raises your con to 18) Get to take some extra beating

Strategy: Take her on fast, perhaps potion of speed and haste with Arbane's sword. Double speed... Have potions of firebreath and/or daystar with You. I dunno if You can use swords.. If You can get insect plague on her it would be nice too.

And cast some protection from electricity if You say its a hard spell to avoid. And chaotic commands before the fight. Both have long long durations.

If all efforts are impossible use scroll of prot. Vs. magic. I think spellstore beside Hes in Waukeens promenade has some.

I went invisible (ring of air control) and summoned two mountain bears (quite surprisingly much more powerful than elementals) and while she was dealing with those i cast swarm and then finished her off in werewolf mode.

I have now got to killing bhaal in the Asylum and have only begun to realise the immense power i have when summoning animals!
Two mountain bears, a fire elemental, two sirenes and kithixx along with me as a greater werewolf is enough to make eleminster crap himself!

 

elminster would never do that! he is way too cool!
