Problems with Cespenar

[IMG] Oh sure...Cespenar's cool and everything, but he doesn't seem to know about the "recipes" the manual talks about. I had plenty of items such as almost all the gems the manual mentions and I had "Fflar's scabbard". The problem is, I sent him looking through my stuff and he didn't even notice that I had "Fflar's scabbard"! How disapointing. I also had "Baalor's Claw" and he didn't do anything either! Is there some kind of bug in my computer?

Those are the items he uses to improve stuff not the items he improves. You have to have the items he improves. You won't find him saying "oh, you have gems, me can make into great sword if you find sword"

When I've had a unique component (like the scabbard), he's always recognized it. But he won't point out gems or scrolls (common components).

Also, not sure if he looks inside of containers? I've always pulled out items into a party member's inventory before having him look for recipes.

he looked throught my bag of holding. He saw that i had the casymere, or the holy avenger sword he so rightly put it. But thanks to him my armour is wicked. he upgraded my elven armour by 2 ac points and made me immune to normal weapons whilst wearing it.
