Problems with creating parties for Icewind Dale

    Hi everyone

    Yeah I am a newbie so bear with me. I bought Icewind Dale and installed it no problems on my computer. I'm running on windows xp with my slightly elderly lap top and I haven't had any other problems with any other games.

    When it comes to creating a party I can create fighters, paladins no problems, theifs will sometimes crash once I get to the abilities screen and mages clerics and druids I have never been able to make because my game is constantly crashing.

    I made a party of mostly fighters and they work well enough except when we meet an enemy who is slightly magical and their weapons are ineffective.

    I have downloaded the version 1.5 patch but it did nothing, I looked and the 1.6 patch and it didn't mention anything about crashes while trying to create a party. Any ideas or advice?

    Sounds to me like you didn't get a good install. If you aren't in the middle of a game I would uninstall and then reinstall and repatch and try again.

    You may not want to rush and do that though because there are a lot of people on this site that are a heck of a lot smarter than I am.
