[IMG] Just a quick question , if a character is profient in a weapon ie club and you fit a shield , do they become unprofient because they don't have
    "sword and shield style" profiency.

No. If you're proficient in a weapon, you will always be. The weapon style proficiencies such as 'single weapon' style only give bonuses but they don't impose penalties that way.
Sword and shield style sucks anyway. Put those points into another weapon or weaponstyle. Single weapon is a personal favourite. :D ...and so is the green smiley.

The Sword and Shield style gives bonuses for missle defense. I for one usually have any Cleric or Shield carrier member of my party with this proficiency.

There is only one shield of Reflection(Adventurer's Mart) which negates all launched missles but the Sword and Shield style can help those of your party members that seem to always get sprayed with arrows.

I also have always found this annoying. To the EXTREME. Interplay did not include these proficiencies (points description that is) in the manual for review. I hope in future releases they include EXACTLY what benefit the points give for Sword and Shield Style, Single Weapon Style, 2-H Weapon Style and Dual Weapon Style.

Nevertheless the only way to acquire this data is upon 'leveling up' and reading the description. I suppose the data is kept in one of the files upon install. I'll give a look around and if I come upon it I'll post!
