How do we kill quasits? Is it like a troll with a coup de grace?

Also, why are some things dealt non-lethal damage without selecting the option?

This might be a spoiler, but...are you referring to the wizard with his quasit that are guarding the Skull of Golden Death? They only receive non-lethal damage, until you carry out a coup-de-grace against them. But I don't think that's a quasit-thing, the same way as with trolls. Rather, it's a plot issue. ToEE has a bunch of quests limited to Evil characters, and one of them - if I recall correctly - requires you to strip the wizard of his possessions without killing him. So the game forces non-lethal damage so you don't accidentally break the plot. 'Course, I play Good characters, so I just knock him unconscious and then finish him off with a coup de grace.

Y'know, this reminds me of your earlier question about whether there were alignment-based plot changes - I can't believe I forgot about that. Yeah, the ENTIRE quest list from the Temple of Elemental Evil is limited to Evil types. Well, I don't think it's exactly required, strictly, that your party be Evil...you could, theoretically, be a Good party and still do the evil priests' quests. But beware of falling paladins!
