Quest of the Unseeing Eye - Stuck!

Hi everyone,

I'm new here, and in BG2-mania too: I discovered this wonderfull game 5 days ago and I really need some help:
I am in the middle of the blind eye quest and I just dicovered I accidently killed the old Sassar (I know, it was really stupid) and now I don't know what to do: I'm supposed to ask him for the first half of the magical Sceptre, but now I'm stuck, with no save-game before his death and I don't know what to do!
Is there ANY way I can continue the quest, ANY solution?
Please, I really enjoy this game and this whoud really save me many hours of gaming.

You do not get the first half of the scepter from Sassar, Sassar just helps direct you where to go. He does give you a password, can't remember if there's a way round needing it though.

You get the first half of the scepter from a temple to Amaunator in the Lower Reaches. You have to defeat an undamagable monster called the Manifestation of Hate. Think of how you can dispel hatred to get past this one

If you have the console enabled you can avoid having to speak with Sassar by enabling the code:

Then speak to someone named 'Tad' in the cultists area. Alternatively CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("SASSAR");

Hmm..perhaps you can create Sassar using the CLUAConsole? WARNING: Do not try it if you don't feel like ruining your first BG2 experience!!!

 

I see no stupidity in what you've done. You've agreed to work for the (obviously evil) kult, the killing of this guy only shows that your word is worth something.
How or even if you do the quest is optional, so don't bother, just continue.
If you think you must get everything in the game you'd better buy a robot to play after a walkthrough for you since you often have to make stupid decisons in order to avoid missing parts of the game.

 

If you can't get into the pit just kill Gull right there and the unseeing eye will show up and you'll have to kill him too. End of quest. You may have missed out on some things but remember it for next time. You get the same reward from the church I think.

 

Ooh, I had forgotten that option been so long since I used it last.

 

It must tough for psychopaths to get a job....

 

Main things you'll miss is a nice Halberd in the beholder area, and the gauntlets of dexterity in the undead area.
