just curious and feel free to correct me if i'm wrong. boba fett is the unaltered clone of jango fett, right? although in the movie boba was refered to as jango's son which is perfectly understandable. but must the facts/information/description about the two still refer to them as father and son instead of gene source and clone?

assuming i was wrong and boba is indeed jango's son, where is the unaltered clone then?

[IMG] I was under the impression that Boba was Jango's son and nothing else...

Boba is Jango's unaltered clone - however Jango calls him 'son' because he considers their relationship just like a father-son relationship.

[IMG] I'm almost 100% certain that the kid is the unaltered clone they talked about. I mean, you can obviously see the resemblance. It's also obvious he wouldn't go explaining to the kid that he's really his father's clone, not his son. He probably wouldn't understand at that point.

They specificly said he wanted the clone to grow up on normal speed, so it's quite logical it's his clone.

Never thought that the Stormtroopers would all be Boba Fett clones...that came as a big surprise :)

[IMG] um Tal, you don't think young boba would've noticed that he has a hell of a lot of brothers running around the cloners' building?

what i find interesting is that while in star wars the cloning of jango to produce boba is called a father-son relationship, in nature when an individual reproduces asexually to produce a clone thay are known as 'mothers' and the offspring 'daughters'. :square:

[edit]: just read magnus' post... SPOILER *warning* geek-sense tingling...

when jango gets into slave 1 to leave kamino he bumps his head, just like 'that' stormtrooper in the original trilogy!

    LIKE FATHER, LIKE CLONE

i'm now positive that boba is jango's unaltered clone. boba was a son to jango in the movie... well i guess lucas wanted us to see that his bounty hunter has a hamane side. i don't think it would be hard to explain to boba that he is a clone. but it would certainly help jango mold the kid into his likeness if treated as a son instead of a clone. and that made me admire jango. i mean he's actually a decent human being underneath that armor and reputation.

what puzzled me was that most of the writeups about star wars only described them as father and son, i have never read one that mentioned "clone" in either one's description. and i mean those are facts and character profiles, right?

i guess my question still hangs unanswered.

I always thought that stormtroopers are just regular soldiers in sam armors.

Now i understand why Leia immediately noticed difference in height in New Hope when she told Luke: "Aren't you low for a stormtrooper?" (or somethinhg like that :))

Not all the Storm Troopers are clones. At least according to the old books, cloning stopped after Palpatine seized all control of the Senate. That's the whole reasoning behind the Heir to the Empire trilogy by Timothy Zahn. And Lucas said that those books were good enough for explaining the future of Star Wars and thus, he had no reason to make episodes 7, 8, and 9.
