question about rangers...

    Is there some trick I'm missing to getting my ranger his animal companion? Got him to 4th level and animal companion is listed on jis feat list but I can't get it to come up on the radial menu.

    It's a bug. For some reason you don't actually get to choose the companion until 5th level. BUT it has beeen announced that it will be fixed in the (soon to be released) patch. If you can't wait, try the circle of 8 fan-fix. I haven't used it but it has gotten a lot of positive responce. You will probably have to remove it to install the official troika patch though, so I would suggest just waiting for that.

    That's a bug. Rangers don't get their animal companion until 5th level. The bug will be fixed in an official patch. Check the front page here to see a list of a few of bug the fixes.
