[IMG] I installed both SoA and ToB in my computer and start playing SoA. I wonder if my character can reach ToB XP Cap while I still not finish SoA? Or game won't allow me to exceed SoA's XP Cap until I enter ToB zone?

    Just curious.

[IMG] The cap is for the whole game. That means you can reach the XP cap in SoA too. But you will never reach it in SoA if you play with a full party.

And this topic should be in the ToB forum.

[IMG] My current party - Sorcerer - Jaheira - Aerie - Imoen - Keldorn - Valygar - has everyone, even Imoen, over 3 million xp at end of chapter 6 and they haven't even touched Watchers Keep. In fact several of them are over 4 million xp.

So saying that you can't reach the xp cap with a full party in SoA is not entirely correct, now is it? :)

    Er, what? Heheheh, really?

Hmm, I wonder why I never reached it. I did all the quests through and through... Maybe I wasn't paying enough attention :p.

[IMG] When ToB started my characters had the following XP:
    Sorcerer 4.3m - Jaheira 3.9m - Aerie 3.5m - Imoen 3.3m - Keldorn 4.2m - Valygar 4.2m

You are in a way correct in that you might not reach the XP cap if you play with a full party at the first possible opportunity.
My party consisted of Sorcerer and Jaheira until they both were over 1m XP. Then I pick up Keldorn and Valygar and they enter the party at 1.2m XP (level 12). Finally I pick up Aerie and Yoshimo. Lastly I try to rescue Imoen so that she'll join with 1.2m XP but with the rest of the party at as close to her XP as is reasonable.

The NPC's have several different variations of themselves - typically 161k, 400k, 800k, 1.2m and 2.5m - and which version you get depends on the levels of the members in your party.

I also leave as many Quest XP awards as possible for when I have a full party.
You could get even more XP by inscribing scrolls but I save as much of that as I can for when I get my final party with Sarevok. No, I will not cheese by inscribing, removing and reinscribing :toofar: the same spells. I do have some pride! :)
