Question for Californians

    Being new to California, I still haven't learned all the laws yet. Though I am learning you need a permit or license of some sort for just about anything. I mean you need one to launch model rockets!
    So my question, what is the law here regarding radar detectors? I can't seem to find anyone who knows.
    I know they sell them here, but you can buy them in other states where they are illegal.
    I have a really good one, but don't want to use it and get a ticket.

    Are you talking about a "cop detector". If you are, I believe those are legal, my friend has one in his suburban.

    Radar detectors are legal. I'm not sure about the other 49 member states.

    My Uncle's brother had a jammer when detectors and the like were just starting to appear on the market, and the cop couldn't figure out why a car that was obviously going more than 80 was registering at 55mph. :rolling:
