Questions about AC + a damn bug :(

    Hello :)

    I'm not entirely familiar with the game yet and I don't really understand how the AC bonuses of items/armor works.. Sometimes it says, for example, Bracers of AC 8. How does that bonus applies ? I have noticed that this item only affects the AC of characters with a high AC (no effect on Minsc and his Full Plate :)) but why is that ? Also some items will say "+2 to AC" and stuff like that.. but AC is supposed to be low, how can +2 be a bonus ? Or does +2 really mean -2 ? I'm a bit puzzled, please enlighten me :)

    Also, on a completely different subject, I have just entered the Bridge District to find that red-dressed evildoer (who buried a man alive) but when I try to enter buildings the game crashes and gives me a Runtime error! The game crashed 3 times in a row on the loading screen when I tried to enter the first 2 buildings. Is this a common bug that can be fixed or is my game just corrupt or something :(

    Heh... Simultaneous post with Darien... I'll take out the link but leave the rest... :)

    Essentially, a positive bonus in armor class reduces your armor class by that amount. Magical bracers are not additive with your armor, the game will choose the best armor class when you wear both. For example, wearing Bracers of AC 8 is the same as wearing Leather Armor. The only reason bracers are better is that your mage can wear them :)

    and in a short answer, Minsc is already wearing armour that sets his AC below 8, so why would he need the bracers?
