Firstly, just what does being drunk do? I've never really noticed in my change in the gameplay or in conversation, much to my disappointment. If I'm apparently so staggering drunk that the barkeeper doesn't even want my money anymore, how come it doesn't seem to affect anything? I've always wanted one of my party members or the NPCs to comment on that state.

Secondly, I often run out of space in my inventory. A lot. And I see a lot of storage containers lying around the city... Can I stash my loot there without losing it?

As far as I can remember, drunkenness increases your Morale, making you less prone to panicking in combat, but decreases your Thac0.

I've never had enough inventory troubles to need to try something like that, but I'd assume that it's a bad idea. Just get containers (i.e scroll cases, gem bags) if you're having trouble with your stuff.

Actually, it's a good idea, so long as you don't pick a container that belongs to someone, because they'll raise the alarm. Most outside containers are safe, and your stuff won't disappear unless you're in an area that undergoes a fundamental change like de'Arnise Keep or the Temple Ruins; my favorite is the big round symbol just northwest of the Adventurer's Mart.

yeh i dump stuff in the chests by the doors to the courtyard in the de'arnise keep, and at the tables in the copper coronet.

and yeh the effects of intoxication dont seem that bad, i remember reading somewhere that while drunk your chars/npcs should have a lot more critcal misses.

If that's true, then someone needs to change it. I actually know a few people who fight *better* when they are drunk.

As for storage, the only chests/containers I ever use are your personal chests within the Pocket Plane. With the 'Bottomless Bag of Holding' feature of the EoU mod, my PC always has everything the party needs all in one inventory slot. :D :thumb:

I just wish they would make a bottomless gem bag and scroll case. I know I can just toss everything into the BBoH, but when you pick up every magical item, scroll, and any gem that's a Diamond or better throughout SoA and ToB, the BBoH becomes a pain to scroll through just to find something...

Um, the Bottomless Bags component includes all the storage items, not just the BoH. So you've already got bottomless gem bags and scroll cases.

Why.... don't you guys just sell the junk?

I like to keep my inventory's clean, I'll drop stuff and "whatev" when I'm going around and out of space, but before I go on a new quest I'll dump my junk@ the Adventurer's Mart. In fact, during quests a few times, I'll spend 3 days going back to the adventurers mart and coming back to the quest (after resting :) ). I find no need for completing a quest in a single trip haha...

Personally, I like hoarding magical trinkets a lot even if none of my members need/can use it, so bottomless bags are a must for me. In addition, my scroll and potion bags are...totaly fantastic. Last time I checked I had more than 430 potions of extra healing, 100+ potions of supeirour healing, all looted from random encounters, and then 10+ even more potions of nearly ALL types avialable, ranging from ability enhancers, to defensive ones, to offensive potions. My scroll case is equally formidable too, just in case... :shake:

I think that the effects of being drunk are quite lame. As Clixby allready said being drunk only affects tach0 (negative) and morale (boost).

And for storage: I put everything that i don't use in my stronghold.

I sell most things, but unique items that might be useful in some situations are worth keeping around. Of course, in Chapter 4 and later I just keep everything in the BoH, but until then I need a place to store stuff I don't want to carry everywhere.

Occasionally it's fun to see who gets intoxicated first in your party. :D

Exor is most certainly on to something there, if you ask me! :D

I prefer selling all the stuff I find actually. Keeping stuff "just in case" simply don't strike my fancy. You end up with lolwtf amounts of gold obviously, but hey, we all love those nuggets, dont we? :money:

I tend to be a hoarder of items, with one character devoting their inventory to become a walking quiver.

The barrel beside Deidre in the Adventurer's Mart I find to be a good one for storage.

One of my golden rules: if your not going to use it, sell it and save up for something more useful. the only things that I hoard are arrows, bullets and bolts if one of my npcs is using a ranged weapon.

My PC collected keys and trophies from her adventures.

"Gramma, why do you have an ugly tooth on your wall?" asks one of her grandkids. :skeptic:

"That is the tooth of the all-mighty Sekolah, god of the Sauguin. Grab a spot on my lap, child, and I'll tell you the tale." :geezer:

I do the same thing, Kuemp! I even bring back the deep gnome patrol leader's helmet from the underdark. I loves my souveniers.

Since whatever stronghold you get has mutiple containers, it's easy to sort stuff out: souveniers go in one container, stuff that Cespenar can upgrade into another, stuff that I might want later on but don't need now in another, and so forth (the ranger's cabin is perfect for this). Makes rummaging through the Bag of Holding much easier.

I don't see how anyone can have inventory issues when they've got unlimited storage space in their stronghold, but I guess some people hold off on the stronghold quests for quite awhile.

I haven't finished my stronghold quest yet (I started over as a Cleric), plus I'm a packrat so I pick up EVERYTHING. :) I usually sell the junk or things I don't need as soon as I can, but I really don't like switching maps more than I have to - I prefer to finish the quest first, then move on to the store to sell, so sometimes ALL of my party member's inventory slots are full.
