Is there a concole command for raising reputation, because these packs of soldiers/wizards and really getting annoying and I'd rather not be running to a temple every five seconds.

If you have access to Shadowkeeper then you can easily change it in that program.

Or, as an alternative, stop killing people. But that may be your goal, in which case, either follow Khazraj's advice or trek it to the temple.

I'm currently running around Athkatla with a reputation of 1 as a result of attempting to kill every single NPC in the game, so I'm getting jumped by cowled enforcers and Amnish centurions almost every time I enter a new area. But I've found if I spend a few thousand in a temple I can boost my reputation to 4 and that stops the attacks.

One advantage to keep getting attacked is that the centurions drop a suit of full plate armour that can be sold for a fair sum of money. So crime *does* pay.

I'm afraid I don't have access to Shadow Keeper and it'll be a while before I can. I need an upgrade on this hunk of junk computer, right now I can barely run BG without getting a disc space error. There's gotta be a way to do it through the console...hrm...

Try ReputationInc(X) where x is the number you want to increase reputation.

It is a valid function, but I'm not sure if it works with the console or not.

    Interesting on two counts:

    - with a reputation of 1, merchants aren't supposed to barter with you

    - the amount of gold you get for items is affected by reputation so even if you managed to find a shopkeeper dumb enough to deal with you, you would get very little (if any) gold for the suits of armor that are being dropped

As I said in another thread, you can buy yourself a decent reputation in a temple for a fraction of what you can sell the armour for. And reputation only seems to affect the price of items you buy; what you sell doesn't matter whether your reputation is 1 or 21.
