Races and their favoured classes

Is it that if I put two nonfavoured classes for a certain race, I will have to level him or her evenly to avoid penalties.

 

Thier levels would have to be within one level of each other yes, unless one of them was their favored class. If you plan to have thier levels different, use a human.

 

On the other hand in most cases of exotic races their favourite class is the best option so multiclass is not a problem
Dont forget also that sometimes male or female non human chars have different favorite class.

 

Sometimes=only drow.

And for all-class-are-favorite races is the class with highest level accounted as "favorite".

For example:

• for human C1-L3, C2-L4, C3-L10 is C3 accounted for favorite class and this character has no exp penalty because C1 and C2 have level difference less than 2
• for human C1-L3, C2-L9, C3-L10 is C10 accounted for favorite and this character HAS an exp penalty, because C1 and C2 have level difference greater (or equal) to 2
• for tiefling C1-L3, C2-L9, Rogue-L10 is Rouge favorite class and this character HAS an exp penalty because C1 and C2 have level difference greater (or equal) to 2
• for tiefling C1-L3, C2-L4, Rogue-L10 is Rouge favorite class and this character has no exp penalty because C1 and C2 have level difference less than 2
• for tiefling Rouge-L3, C2-L9, C3-L10 is Rouge favorite class and this character has no exp penalty because C2 and C3 have level difference less than 2

This means, that in some combinations all-classes-are-favorite race is not better then a race with specific favorite class and player should plan character development and choose his/her race accordingly or suffer the exp penalty.
