Well, I was doing the mission where you have to protect the spoiled brat-girl. When the "uncle" or whatever came to get the girl, I did a "detect evil" check, but he didn't turn out evil. I decided to kill him anyway since I remembered something about him being an impostor. Apparently he wasn't.

In any case, my last save before is a quicksave right after I killed the first attacking assassins (same mission, same house). However, when I load it, the uncle never shows up (no cutscene or time-passning scene after the save). Can anything be done to make the guy appear?

    (Sorry for the messy post)

Hmmm... While I can't answer your specific question, I can tell you that your initial impression of casting detect evil was correct. Sometimes the guy really is the uncle (which was your case) in which case he doesn't show as evil, and you are free to turn over the girl to him.

OTOH, it is also possible that he is an imposter, in which case he will show up as evil, and you should kill him. So there's two ways it can turn out, and it is entirely dependent upon the the result of the detect evil.

Yeah, I know. Unfortunately, I only remembered that he could be evil, so I slayed him even though the detect evil spell showed nothing.

    Strange!

But if you have returned to your previously saved game, do one of the two things below. I hope that it will solve the problem:

Use Ctrl+Spacebar to open the cheat window, then either

    1) CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("hurgisf")
Kill him and go to report to the order.

    Or alternatively:
    2) CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("hurgisr")
Give the girl to him and go to report to the order.
