Ranger/Assassin sneak attack?

    I was planning on picking the Assassin prestige class for my evil Ranger. I just picked my first level in Assassin, but the sneak attack has yet to reveal itself.

    I use the Camouflage spell, dual-wielding Katana and Kukri atm. Neehska gets her Sneak Attacks of every now and then, but I cannot even get it when attacking out of combat. I did get the Paralyze hit when attacking a lizard out of combat, but not the " *Sneak Attack* " graphics ..

    Does the "Death Attack" require a previous Sneak Attack from the Rogue class or have I just been unlucky?

    I picked a Rogue level instead and got the Sneak Attack quite frequently. Guess you need the base Sneak Attack feat in order to use the Death Attack.
