    Hello (first time post),

Currently i'm playing as an Archer and i solved the problem in the Umar Hills and got the rangers cabin, which i was pleased about. So i quite happily stored all my stuff in there and carried on doing other quests, solving the tanner problem and killing that blasted red dragon. Oh yer and the first rangers mission as well. But i went back and the damn thing has been locked and aparently i am not welcome in the town anymore. I'm not a fallen archer and i think my reputation is 17. What the Hell is going on?! Ive rescued Imoen first and im doing al the quest backwards but i didnt think this would cause a problem. Can anybody help get my cabin back.

Did you buy the boys swords and/or ale? It's a quick way to end your ranger stronghold. If that's the case, there's also no way to get your cabin back. You could cheat your way in though:

    Welcome to the boards!

I think if you fail any of the subquests or fail to get back in time then it becomes locked. I thought there was a way to get it back though, but I could be wrong. Have you tried talking to miniter lloyd again?

    The same happened to me!

Unfortunately, it was at a time when I was considering starting a new game anyway. So it was more of a decision maker than an annoying problem. I never really delved that much into it tbh. Sorry :( . At the time I assumed it was some kind of bug?

    CamDawg,
Buying the boys swords and ale never ended the stronghold for me (although I did rescue them from the kobolds).

Bard is correct. You took too long on one of the quests.

I lost the cabin after giving the boys swords, though I rescued them. I assumed it was due to the swords, though it's possible I was slow returning.

Ah well, so much for (bad) assumptions.

I too have had this problem, and it looks like a time issue. Probably shouldn't have gone and rescued Imoen.

Na i didnt buy the kids swords or ale and i only started doing the Ulmar Hills quest after rescuing Imeon. The only thing i think may have caused it was when i had to do the first rangers quest. Instead of just taking the money for the necklace, i just decided to kill the guy. Tree spirit person (strange green woman) said something along the lines of it was unfortunate i had to kill them but at least the forest was safe. Surely this cant be the reason?! I have saved a while back before this and i dont really want to go through it all again.

I think I did the same thing actually and had no problems.

It really looks like a time problem to me.

Cool cheers, I will try some different things and see what happens. See if i can get my cabin back. The major said something about what I did was an awful thing to do. The question I want to ask is WHAT THE HELL DID I DO!

Have you checked your journal? This should show you what quests you have active and you could see if any ranger relevant quests remain incomplete. There might also be a normal journal entry relating to what you might or might not have done.
