[IMG] I'm new to the infamous Ranger/Cleric. If a multiclass do the ranger spell slots count as cleric caster level?

If I understand your question correctly, then the answer is yes, dear friend. At whichever levels you gain access to the next tier of cleric spells, you'll gain access to druid spells of the same level.

No, that wasn't my question. That much I knew ahead of time. It was one of the main reasons I included a Ranger/Cleric in my multiplayer party. What I'm wondering is if the spell slots I get with Ranger levels use Cleric casting level.

I'm pretty sure they do because they're both divine casters. If you were a cleric/mage, I would question it.

Yeah, with the whole cleric-getting-druid-spells I would have been surprised if the ranger had his own caster levels. Seems like it would be hard for the game to differentiate since there is only one divine caster page per spell level. That's going to be great at high levels with Armor of Faith. I am starting to see why it's such a popular class combo!

    I think here's a misunderstanding...

You don't get separate spell slots for your ranger levels, you ONLY get spell slots as per your cleric level. Since you essentially lose your ranger spellcasting abilities, I guess they made your cleric levels be able to pick druidic spells to compensate for this.

Only class that truly gets two separate sets of spells to cast is Cleric/Mage (dual or multi).

I think you answered his question. Basically you don't get extra spell slots.

If you did that would mean more spells can be cast during a battle and you (if I read Sir Rechet correctly) don't receive that.

What you do get is more options for those spell slots a cleric has. So the same number of spells can be cast during a battle but you have more variety in picking what those spells can be.

I am clear now. Thank you, everyone, for clarifying the issue. I will be happy with my Ironskins instead of 3 Armor of Faiths.

To avoid further confusion: You mean you trade your three EXTRA Armor of Faiths that you thought you'd get from your ranger levels for the ability to pick Iron Skins at fifth circle, right? You still get your AoF from being a (half) cleric. :)

Yeah, that's what I meant. 3 bonus Armor of Faiths are expendable for Ironskins.
