I know there's supposed to be something quite amusing happening to Edwin, as result of his work on the Nether scroll, which includes him turning into a chick and stuff. Well, we got the shardamn scroll with him, he took it, and i kept him in my party for quite long afterwards. Nothing happened, up untill i had nothing left to do on the mainland and went to Brynlaw, where i had no intention to take some thayvian arse who might throw a fit over my reputation and leave me in an area where he cannot be replaced. Well, now i'm back to the surface, so tell me: if i go get Edwin now, is thre some way to make him get on with it? Any way to trigger th events that should happen? He had plenty time for it with me, and plenty more alone, by now...

 

Well, the thing is that you have to give the correct response when you find the scroll. If you tell Edwin something to the effect of "The scroll is party treasure" the quest ends and nothing happens. If, however, you instead reply, "Will you be using the scroll to benefit the group?", the Nether scroll quest proceeds normally. Since the quest starts shortly after receiving the scroll, my guess is that you gave the wrong response when you found the scroll.

 

I don't remember the exact wording of the option i chose then, but i didn't stand in his way of taking the scroll ot himself. He said he's taking it, and i didn't object.
