[IMG] The shadow dragon kept killing my main char. a Paladin, (my party toasted the red dragon easy and we were lower level then). Finally we killed the dragon with only Minsc dead. My difficulty settings is normal, which says characters can't permanently die. I have installed the patch. I had aerie cast raise dead on the pile of armour where minsc died, didn't work. I had saved before casting raise dead so I reloaded and looked in the pile of armour and stuff, no corpse. Couldn't find the corpse anywhere. First game I had viconia use the rod of resurrection several times it never worked. So I don't get it, how to you resurrect a dead character?

(btw I reloaded before the battle, one earth elemental must have got a critical hit cause it did 41 points of damage, so we managed to kill the dragon while it only killed summoned creatures)

Even at normal difficulty, your caracter can die permenantly. If he is smash real good, his/her portrait will disappeair from the bar.

Indeed: When a dragon uses his breath weapon and simply burns good minsc to ashes there is nothing left to resurrect. In this case his face disappears from your party list right on the screen.
Usually you can resurrect them by clicing on their grey portraits.
Another tip about resurrection: When one of your characters was turned to stone, he will run away when you turn him back to flesh again. You have to collect him later at the cc ore some other place.

    Sylvus,

Thank you. I bet that is in the manual too. The portrait was still there so he was not blown to ashes. Next time I will know.
