How would I build a party for a druid? In the past I've always ended up bringing as many Choatic Neutral characters along and then just had to settle for L/N/CE.

The obvious choice would be to bring more Druids along, but I don't want to. I only need one druid.

    I've ended up with this...
    PC
    Korgan
    Haer'Dalis
    Viconia
    Jan
    Edwin

That's basically the perfect evil party, but I'm supposed to be balanced. Should I get Valygar or Mazzy to balance the scales? They don't fight with anyone, do they?

    You could try this party:
    PC
    Edwin
    Jan
Viconia (or Anomen, if you want better melee character)
    Valygar
    Mazzy

At least there's balance: two good, two neutral and two evil characters. Two healers, two warriors, two magic-users and a thief. Although melee could be problem, unless you put Viccy or Mazzy in front line.

I'm not sure do Valygar and Edwin fight. I've heard that they fought in some version of Shadows of Amn, but that was removed later.

Valygar fighting? hah imagine that, the only people I could picture him hateing are mage character's and considering how bad he hates magic it's amazing he doesn't cut any mage in your parties throats while they sleep, I guess you can't blame him considering his past.

When playing a Druid, I have always liked .....

    Me (Druid)
    Korgan (Fighter)
    Minsc (Ranger)
    Jaheira (Fighter/Druid)
    Haer'Dalis (Bard)
    Imoen (Mage/Thief)

    This gives you 2 good fighters, 1 backup-fighter, 2 healers, 2 magic-users, 1 thief, 1 bard.

Although a Druid likes balance, they would also travel with companions whose outlook/beliefs match their own. So a druid travelling with a ranger and fighter/druid would be a natural fit.

I'd rather have a cleric than a second Druid. The game doesn't give a Neutral Cleric as Anomen asks you right away about your alignment (and if I lie to him there what's the point of roleplaying?)

Clerics are great if you want to turn undead, other than that the extra Druid won't cause too many problem. Plus, Jaheira does get her raise dead ability. She also makes an excellent tank if you need her. I find her spells much better and it gives two of you that can desimate the enemy mages.

Don't get me wrong, I "LOVE" Viconia and always fit her in my party along with Haer'Dalis. It's usually Edwin that gets the boot in my parties (as I hate him).

You can argue (for roleplaying) in Viconias favour, that your Druid has rescued her and it is his responsibility to protect her now. She is persecuted and being neutral he will always side with the underdog.

Valygar doesnt fight edwin, he considers him beneath him. Its funny, edwin is like Hah elminster could kill you in 1 second and I could kill you in two. And valygar says basically to Edwin STFU you a sucky ass mage.

Anyway, I would suggest taking Imoen as she is pretty neutral minded, even if her alignment says other wise. Anomen test failed is good for party role play but a sucky ass npc. Instead Throw in Viconia since she is kinda neutral minded. Hmm, go for Haer as well. Cant really think of anymore that suit your role play needs. Cept Korgan I guess.

    I suggest:
    PC
    Korgan--->Mazzy
    Haer'Dalis
    Viconia
    Jan--->Imoen/Nalia

Perfect Balance, though roleplaying this would be another thing entirely.
