[IMG] When I open my inventory screen and richt click an item to look at it the game exits. No crash or error screen or anything. So i cant learn spells look at items, identify magic items. Makes the game unplayable. Anyone seen this and know how to fix? Running under XP with the patch, tried without the patch and without the collectors CD - same result.

I have the same problem on my computer if I try to play it. But I can install it on my mothers computer and it doesnt do that.

How much memory does your computer have? and also waht kind of video card do you ahve, IWDII isnt compatible withsome cards.

This happens mostly on PowerVR cards. Try with installing the beta patch (it fixed the issue for PowerVR cards and some nVidia ones, but not ALL nVidia):
    http://icewind2.blackisle.com/patchv2_01.html
(note: Tal, where's the beta patch link on SP?!)

If you're not using PowerVR based card, a good chance is that your video card driver is lacking of support for some specific resolution/cdepth combinations (or that is bugged). Try with setting color depth on 16 or 32 inside IWD2 config.

Final possibility is that you have an ATI card with Catalyst driver installed. In this case, you should downgrade the driver to non-catalyst driver.

If nothing of this helps you, please try playing in Windowed mode (just hit Alt-Enter when you get into the game) and then access your inventory. Assertion messages won't get tangled up between DirectX that way, so do please post the error message you get.
To toggle back to Fullscreen, just hit Alt-Enter again.

I got another hard drive to expand the memory of my computer, and it would do that to me. I reinstalled it on my old harddrive and it worked perfectly. Anyways I got a new computer and it works on that.

Latest news - try with installing WinXP SP1!

Seems that on some machines this is DirectX issue.
