[IMG] Is there more than one RoHI? If so where can they be found?

I have the one. Jahiera is using rod of terror and I only read the stats of it, not the bio. I only found out later that it was drilling my charisma so I had to give it to her instead of my PC. He doesn't need it but it is something i would like him to have...

Well here is a neat trick for you then.

Take a note of your lowered CHA, wear RoHM, and start bashing someone with the Rod of Terror. Notice how many times you get the 'Charisma Modification' message which means your CHA is lowered by 1. Now, if your CHA drops to 0, you die. Technically whenever any ability score is 0 you die. Instantly. But don't worry, as long as you have RoHM, you will ALWAYS have a 18 CHA. But if you take it off and your CHA is 0 you die. Now, the trick: Count until you are sure that your CHA is now 0. Then lower it once more. Technically you now have -1 CHA, but game engine does not allow negative numbers so it will just grant you 25 CHA! Take off the ring and voila! You now have godly cha, so high that according to pure AD&D any living thing that sees you must make a save or die because of your outstanding personal magnetism. Ofcourse, that is not implemented in the game. :p

BUT you must be ever careful, if you take of the ring when your CHA is 0 you die. If you go too much to -2 you will have 24 CHA instead of 25, 23 if you are -3 and so on.

Hope this nasty trick helps you! You can technically make yourself uglier to the point of being the perfect CHA!

Silverstar - why waste the time with that exploit? If you are going to do that, just SK your charisma to 25 and sell the ring and ugly stick.

@ dmc: because it's just funny to think that you can use a bug in the game engine to "uglify" yourself to god-like good looks. :shake: ;)

Also, it's a higher class of cheating. Using an editor or cheat codes is one thing, but making a mockery of programming loopholes requires more... class, for want of a better phrase. Like Ultima VII, where you could give your Avatar maximised stats by taking what would be a lethal overdose of drugs for any of your other party members. It's all about subverting the natural order, but within the rules laid down by the games original coding, without editing files, entering codes etc. Often, I find the exploits can be the most entertaining & memorable part of a game.

But then, I have no morals. ;)

^I completely agree with The Magpie here, using a loop in game engine does not make feel as guilty as editing a save game via editor. I have never tried it in my game, though my friend tried and it works %100 if you do it right.

AFAIK it will only work with the main character though.
