Heinlein is the man.. I've read Job, Stranger in a Strange Land, and Starship Troopers, . I really love his writing style and descriptive science-fiction, with enough action to keep you reading. Starship Troopers the book was a hell of a lot better than the movie, by the way..

Anyone else a Heinlein fan? If so, which one of his works is your favorite?

I've only read Stranger in a Strange Land, and wasn't too impressed. That whole grok business just annoyed me. I know he is regarded as one of the best SF writers ever, but after Stranger, I just never picked up another... :)

I have read "Starship Troopers" (excellent, far superior to the movie) and the first 3/4 of "Stranger in a Strange Land" (sucked). BTA hits it when he uses the word "annoyed". I got to the point where they are forming the "church" and had to stop. I wanted to shred the book into little pieces. It is currently a coaster.
I have "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress" and "The Cat who walks through walls" but have not read them yet.

Strange, because although Stranger in a Strange Land was one of the weirdest books I have ever read (three words: Valentine Michael Smith), I liked it. Not a lot, but it was interesting..

starship troopers is one of the best scifi books around. His other stuff...well, I haven't gotten around to reading anything other than I Will Fear No Evil, which was really weird, but pretty good.
