    Does anyone except me find her books truly depressing? I think they are truly great books and I cant stop reading. But they depress me something terrible all the time. Nothing is ever happy, and when you thought things had gotten as worse as they could, they get even worse. It is nice when the hero doesnt conquer his/her enemies with wisp of his hand but Hobb is a bit negative.
    Does anyone else experience her books in the same way?

    I have to agree with your opinion. I also find the books to be rather depressing and sad even though I really enjoy reading them. Except for the second and a bit of the third Liveship ones. I just didn't like those.
    The newest book "Fool's Errand" is perhaps my favourite and again it is rather depressing in parts. I won’t say what happens, but that one part close to the end made me feel like crying. :(

    I havent yet read Fools Errand. But I will buy it as soon as it comes out in paperback. I am alittle afraid of Hobbs books because they seem to make alittle too depressed :cry:

    I've only read the Farseer trilogy, and even that was a translated version, so I probably have missed some nuances, but damn, it is depressing. Incredibly depressing. I was in a foul mood days afterwards.

    EDIT: I had the name of the trilogy wrong, because of the dumb translators. Had to edit that, as well as couple of typos.
