[IMG] I've had IWD2 for about a year and only played for a few days. I'm not a huge fan of the point-buy system. Anyway, you guys/gals have peaked my interest again! :)

I came up with a four person party of:

Aasimar Paladin of Helm X/Fighter 4
    [will alternate fighter lvls]
    STR 17
    DEX 12
    CON 16
    INT 3
    WIS 14
    CHA 18
[I realize I can bump CHA up to 20, but wanted more STR.]
    Feat: Power Attack

    Shield Dwarf Cleric of Lathander
    [looking forward to sponteneous casting]
    STR 18
    DEX 13
    CON 20
    INT 3
    WIS 18
    CHA 4
    Feat: Combat Casting

    Svirfneblin Monk
    STR 14
    DEX 20
    CON 16
    INT 3
    WIS 20
    CHA 1
    Feat: Dodge

    Drow Elf Rogue 2/Wizard X
    [will alternate]
    STR 10
    DEX 18
    CON 14
    INT 20
    WIS 10
    CHA 8
    Feat: Strong Back

How many levels of rogue should I add? I thought two sounded decent. Most here say you don't need much from a rogue. I found a lot of you were preaching the use of the svirfneblin monk build, so I decided to give it a try.

    :aaa: AC 25! :aaa:

    *This* guy's gonna rock!

I know I'm min/maxing with the intelligence and charisma. The Ugly Stick outright *refuses* to touch my monk and rocks are mocking everyone except for the drow. Comments are more the welcome, especially about what feats to pick.

You could instead of rogue levels ad some fighter levels, you are allready gaining all the benefit from the Wizards high int, spend some of his skills on the roguestuff. Using the wiz/fighter combination sure rocks :D

    @ kuemper

Unless you really want to have a drow, I'd suggest a tiefling for your rogue/wizard--you'll still be able to get 20 DX/20 IN starting, but your experience penalty will be lower.

And yes, two is OK for rogue levels, 'cause that gives you evasion for free. You could go rogue(3) for the extra 1d6 sneak attack, but I'd rather have another caster level.

I suggest combat casting or dodge feat for the wiz as well, then later expertise and spell focus: evocation. Once spellcraft is 10+ and you can cast 4th level spells, elemental feats (spirit of flame, etc). are mandatory.

You could take 2 points off Wis for your Paladin and add a point each to Str and Dex. That way he is better at killing as well as being able to pick the dirty fighting feat.

Why the Char 4 for the Dwarf, he could do with 14Dex.

I like the DG monk too. That guy has some serious issues with getting hurt

Rogue[2] is fine. You can put the evasion ability to good use if you ever find that this guy can get to higher AC than the monk.

I changed over to a tiefling. A drow was simply for the spell resistance. Why does the dwarf have a 4 charisma? That's a good question. The answer is because I'm an idiot. :) Really, I plan on putting the cleric and pally in heavy armor to tank and didn't see the point of having more dexterity than was necessary. Now that I look at it, it seems silly. Thanks for the input and I'll be back when I get stuck. :p
