Few levels of fighter never did anyone wrong.

My favorite character is a cleric-rogue mix - 2/3 cleric, 1/3 rogue. (Not very strong, but lots of fun!) But it's a li'l late for you to add a spellcasting class, because the HoF monsters are so tough...and I don't think that four levels of fighters would be worthwhile for the weapon specialization.

Why not just keep going rogue 'til level 30? That'll give you outrageous sneak attack damage - if you use tight tactical micromanagement, you can tear targets apart.

I tried a game with a tank and three thieves - the tank would attract the target, and the three rogues would surround the target from the flanks and rear. Guaranteed sneak attack damage.

But if you're human and can take ANY class without the exp penalty...try a barbarian level. That'll give you a speed boost.

    Depends on your abilities.

If your rogue has very high INT, then rogue/wizard.

Wizard has fastes gaining of spell levels - you can get useful buf spells quickly.

    Barbarian is good.

You could make rogue(x)/barb(1-2)/ranger(1-2) which gives you speed, HP, rage, favorite enemy, free ambidexterity and two weapon fighting.

    Also a combination:
    roguee(x)/barbarian(2)/ranger(2)/wizard(3) could be fine.

You can also take some monk levels to increase your AC - if your wisdom bonus is positive

And it depends on your race - if your characters has favored class and it is not rogue, forget it - taking anything would lead to XP penalty.

You kind of lost the chance of making the character "amazing" when you took that many levels of rogue. A wizard multiclass might make him a better decoy, and that's about it.

Hojo Jojo's right. You really went too high with the roguue levels to make him "amazing".He's too hight ot start taking any spellcaster classes(except ranger) because you'll never get those really good high-level spells.
Rangers are the obvious choice to multiclass rogues to as they gain the free feats of two-weapon fighting and ambidexterity when wearing light armor and they will get you a favored enemy as well.
Why not try multiclassing to a Monk of the Old Order? It will be a great roleplaying combo and even though you might not go unarmed with no armor, you'll get some free feats, faster movement and some nice immunities too.

Sorcerer, druid, paladin - forget it. Too much stat-intense. No common class skills either. Unless you want a sorcerer with two levels of rogue and 1-3 of paladin for evasion and divine grace (divine health, divine courage, etc). Perhaps druid/ranger/rogue/monk(/fighter) could be uber if you found the right way, but I don't have the time to look into it now.

Wizard: for an incredible amount of skill points, yes. Large INT will better your Search and Disable Device. With humans, half-elfs, moon elves and male drow, it's possible to make wizard the main class and have an equal (with the tolerance of 1) number of levels in a number of other classes.

Monk: only if you find a nice combination, but it doesn't seem profitable to me. Monk is unarmed-fighting and rogue is armed-fighting. Two different worlds. With DEX and WIS skyhigh, you might have an uber AC. Several abilities of both classes combined are deadly. Improved evasion free, so you can take another rogue feat after rogue level 10 in its place. Special rogue attacks combined with special monk attacks might be fun to watch.

Barbarian: well, more skill points than fighter, some HP, movement rate increase, fighter BAB increase rate, weapon profs. Good instead of fighter rather than together with it. If you don't want weapon specialisation, that is.

Ranger: weapon allowance, fighter BAB progression, dual-wielding and search, hide & move silently as class skills. A good option. If it's just one level, barbarian is a good option for movement rate increase and 12 HP. Even multiclassing will breed power. Might also include fighter levels, but watch your favourite class to avoid XP penalty.

Specialty priest of Mask: a nice option, roleplaying-wise and domain spell wise. About only sensible cleric subclass here, anyway. Not that I would advise it.

Bard: no new chants after level 11 and already a rogue-like class, so seems natural. You could also take a largely pureblood bard and start him out as a rogue for better skill ranks. Fighter comes to my mind if you have the casting impaired much beyond uberness anyway.

My brother was succesfull with a fighter/rogue/barbarian/ranger even multiclass. Or was it human and developing just one class beyond the most beneficial early levels? I don't remember.

    - rogue/mage : because of the INT & DEX.
    - rogue/ranger : dual wielding short swords + weapon finesse.
    - rogue/fighter : some more feats + weapon specialization.
    - rogue/barbarian : using weapon finesse.
    - rogue/demarch of Mask : if you have enough wisdom.

Rogue mixed with Monk of the Old Order can be useful too in some circumstances - makes use of the high dexterity that an armourless Monk usually needs - plus gives the Monk somewhere to put his skill points (as he's unlikely to be the spokesman or the spellcaster)
