Hi agin. While playing my new Avenger solo(challenging) , I got thinking about some books i have read recently. I was wondering if anyone has played as characters from books? Here are some of my ideas:

The trio form the pool of Radiance book:
    Shal- Female Human Sorceror
    Tarl- Male Human Cleric
    Ren- Male Human Ranger/theif (dc)
I think this would be quite a balanced party.

The characters from "Rhapsody" by Elizabeth Haydon:
Rhapsody- Female halve elven- bard or skald
    Grunthor- Male half orc barbarian
    Achmed- Male Assasin/archer
    Jo- Female human Theif
    Ashe- Male Half elf Kensai/mage
(not to sure about him as the other books in the trilogy arent out in australia yet.)

Id like to hear some more ideas.Thanks.

I've never actually done this in a BG game though I've done similar in other games. I did start an Icewind Dale game that was full of NPCs based on ex-girlfriends (all neurotic evil obviously). It did make me more protective towards them. My next party is likely to be based on a combination of all my previous Slappy characters. Anyway, that's not really on topic. I think it easy to do if you use a book that is a Fantasy type, otherwise the paper dolls and stuff looks wrong. Anyway, for food for thought have a look at some earlier posts based on Lord of the Rings, Wheel of Time and StarWars. There is also a link to a site that has created a party of the 3 Stooges!

Hey an idea hits me at last - Pratchett's Diskworld party that could be funs and fairly easy to find some decednt pics to make portraits with. You could have

    Barbarian - Cohen the Barbarian
    Fighter - Detritus (half orc)
    Assassin - Teppic
    Cleric - Brutha
Mage - Rincewind (he'd need to have very crap stats though and just defensive spells.
    Mage - Granny Weatherwax

You could also make a party for specific groups. The Guards

    Paladin - Carrot
    Fighter - Vimes
    Fighter - Detritus (half orc)
    Fighter - Colon
    Fighter/Thief - Nobby
    Shapeshifter - Angua

    The Witches

    Mage - Granny Weatherwax
    Mage - Nanny Ogg
    Mage - Magrat
    Fighter - Shawn Ogg
Swashbuckler - Count Giamo Casanunda the Dwarf (the one who is always chatting up Nanny Ogg)
    Cleric - Mightely Oaks

Or Cohen's band from Interesting Times or the Unseen University group. That would be fun a party of mages!

PS. just in case anyone is not sure, the links are intended to broaden and encourage the discussion not kill it.
PPS just noticed Erran beat me to the Discworld idea.
