Two things. First, I was in our local game store looking around, and I found a little bin with some older, kinda beat-up looking computer games on sale. I picked through them and I found BGII: Throne of Bhaal. For .99 cents. .99 CENTS. That's so.... whatever is a cross between wonderful and horrible at the same time.
Second, I'm going through BGI now and plan on exporting my char to BGII when I'm finished. I have a female character, which I've never played before. Since romance is an integral thing for me (heh) and I don't plan on putting up with a self-absorbed paladin, is there anywhere anyone can direct me to so I can find out how to keep uuuuhhh what's-his-face (The paladin romance) from becoming a paladin? I heard he's more palatable that way.

Anomen is a fighter/cleric seeking admittance into the Order of the Radient Heart. He remains a fighter/cleric no matter the outcome (he never becomes a paladin).

To answer your question -- encourage Anomen to seek revenge. That's not the LG way and he fails his test for the Order.

    He's still self-absorbed.

I've not tried any of the male romances (though I do plan on going through some of them), but from what I've read and seen I'd say drop Anomen entirely and get one of the unofficial NPC romances. Kelsey and Solaufein are the ones I've heard only praises about, but there's a number of others if you don't want either of these.

Anomen is self-absorbed and unbearable if you're a man, so I don't even want to imagine how annoying he would be if you're playing a female character AND romancing him.

I agree - Anomen's a LOT more tolerable when he fails his Test. The reaction to it was quite amusing too - his insults are pretty lame. :shake: You might want to consider getting Kelsey, as he's basically the best mod NPC. He has a cool soundset (albeit a bit loud), good portrait, wicked flirts and several interesting banters. Or you could gt Solaufein, or Tsujatha, or Chloe (yes, CHLOE! She's a woman! ), whatever you wanna try. They're all good in their own unique ways, and all are better than Ano the Orc IMHO.

He is VERY arrogant, even when he fails, but a bit less so. And he is a Human Fighter dualled to a Cleric at level seven. And he wears a tunic. 'Nuff said. :D

Go for Anomen for once. If you don't like him, then get a mod romance (I suggest Kelsey and Tsujatha). Also a must - Flirt Pack mod. You will be very annoyed to finish your romance in Chapter 2.

Oh HELL yeah, get the Flirt Packs! They kick ass! :shake: Some of the flirts are a bit rude! But they are very well written and add loads of depth to the characters, and allow the PC to actually start conversations.
