OK. So I managed to miss out on the romance plot lines in SoA. Dont ask me why. Maybe because I spent the night with the courtesans of the Copper Coronet and Arie wasn't impressed, I don't know. I didn't even know there was a romance plot line until I read it in the walkthrough after I'd completed the game. I was kind of wondering what I was supposed to do with Bhodi's black heart.

So my big question is, is there a romance plot in ToB? And should I start a new character if want to pick it up? New character, new history, and all that. I'm trying to decide whether to play on with the character I have and the group I have ( I like that character a lot) or whether to drop a couple of the NPC's change and them for others or whether to start a completely new character.

HOw does the romance work anyway? I travelled most of SoA with Arie and Nalia, thugh I dropped them now and again while I was trying other NPC's. My character is Chaotic Good. Arie at one point started talking about her past but it never went anywhere ([perhaps because, like I said I spent the night with the courtesans). If I drop these two and pick up Viconia, would a fresh NPC blow new life into the affair???

Any adive would be most gratefully accepted.

You can choose almost any NPCs from SoA later by using this summoning thing in your pocket plane but you'll see that later on. You can continue Aerie romance if it is not screwed already. If you take Viconia into your party you will be able to start a romance with her. Bodhi's heart is used for finishing a romance but I won't say why or where.

You can only have romances in ToB if you did them in SoA and passed a certain point in each one - If you didn't complete them basically then you can't have a romance

Bhodis heart is used in th umar Hills - ruined temple in the room next to where you battle her in Chap 6 are three books to help you - continue from there on

I believe the answer he was looking for was:

    1. No, you cannot Start a romance in ToB, only continue one that has progressed in SoA. There are no 'new' romances on ToB, only additional dialogues and things for the ones that already Exist.

    2. Romances work in Variables, so when you for example...listen to Aerie's past, a variable is set saying that: "The PC has listened to Aeries past", and so next time Aeries speaks to you, she'll pick the next romance dialogue after that.
    :)
Basically, to progress in a romance, you need to say the right things when talking to your chosen partner.

    Hope that helps ya.

    It does thanks a lot.

So I guess I'm screwed then unless I want to start the whole game again.

Anybody have any idea why Aerie didn't follow up on her comments to me about her past? I only got one comment ever and her reply was something like, " So we both have similar pasts then". After that she didn't give me so much as a wink. I had Haer Dalis on board for a while until his flirtation with her got so out of hand my jealousy made me ditch him.

I did spend the night with one of the courtesans in the Copper Coronet and I did dump Aerie a lot in Chapter 2. MAybe she took it all as a sign of lack of interest.

Yeah, I know I can take ASrevok into my party. I'm trying to decide who to take on and who to dump now. I'm thinking about playing with Viconia for a while.

    [IMG] Why Aerie Ditched You

    1) You said the wrong option in the last dialog
    2) You kiccked H'D at the wrong moment and should have waited
    3) You kicked her out the party for more than 3 IG days
