Romance with NPCs

I havn't got these 'quite' down yet, what is the consequence exactly of having a Romance with each of the characters? (example: Annomen, Jaheria). And what happens with each one?

 

I am not possitive(so correct me if i am wrong), but i think that they are just an extra sub-plot to the game. The only real consequence to having on, is that if you say the wrong stuff(are cruel to them) that they might leave.

 

I think that you have sex in the end. No matter who you are dating.
Am I wrong?

And yeah, it's only subplot not linked to game story itself and no proper benefits - besides that night turmoil

 

Yeah I just found out about the girls..... but what about Anomen? Anyone know about him?

 

hmm i am mid romance.. i know he likes to spout poetry.. and i think we did the sleep together thing.. but no real anamation.. so i will have to let you know.. not totally finished the game

 

Well, I had a female protagonist so I decided to have a romance with Anomen (the only real reason to keep him in your party). After he's been in your party for a while, a messenger will come and talk to you, saying that his sister has been murdered. Go to his home (I think it's in the Government District), and talk to his father; then talk him out of killing his sister's supposed murderer. Go to the goverment building, talk to Bylanna Ianulin, and it will turn out that there isn't enough evidence to convict the murderer. About week later Anomen will ask to go to the Order of the Radiant Heart, and if you solved his sister's murder without violence, he will join the order. Then some time later a messenger will tell him that his father has been killed too; he'll leave your party. You'll find him in the bridge district, in house of Saerk (who killed his father and sister). I can't figure out how to keep him in your party during this event, though...

Uh, that is his NPC quest and has nothing to do with the romance at all.(unless he reacts to the protagonist differently, i've only played male PCs.)

He does react differently. There's a whole new section to that plot if you're romancing him. Like Jaheira, he runs away from the party and you have to chase him; at the end you'll finally resolve the whole who-killed-the-sister thing that male PCs never get to learn.

It's the weakest of the four romances by far, though.

 

I'm trying to start a romance with Viconia now, but so far it hasn't started. I'm in the middle of the Planar Sphere quest, and it has been quite a while with no romance thus far. It's not like I messed the romance up, either, because it hasn't even triggered the first dialogue yet. Anyone know what's going on? I dled Shadowkeeper with the idea of changing a global variable(i have found two that may pertain to the Viconia romance, I think they are VICONIAROMANCE and VICONIAROMANCEACTIVE. The former is some rather high number, the latter is set to 1).

I've done a search on the boards, that's how I got the idea for using the Shadowkeeper, but the reference doesn't really have any instructions as to what I should set the variables to.

I kicked Jaheira out of my party, but the first romance dialogue had already started. I passed her when I went to the Harper building to do a quest, and she launched the second romance dialogue despite not being in my group. This started my concern that the no-Viconia-romance thing was a bug.

I had that romance hack installed before, so I could have multiple romances, but have since uninstalled and reinstalled the game and added ToB without installing the hack again.

Well...those are all the things that I thought might have lead to some kind of problem...anyone know what I can do, either to fix this or at least get the ball rolling with Shadowkeeper?

I hesitate to ask such a simple question, but... you're not an elf, are you?

Because Viconia isn't attracted to elves...

 

Oh, damn. I remember her arguing with Jaheira about my elf sorcerer before, but that must have been with the romance hack.

How long, typically, does the romance take?

I kept Aerie around to see if she'd warm up and she keeps seeming like she is, but man, does she ever dribble on and on...I think its time to kick her to the curb and pick up Viconia.

Are there any romances with Nalia? I've only heard Aerie, Viconia, and Jaheira.

Wouldn't mind a little nobility - reminds me of a certain line in A Few Good Men.
