Romancing the Drow

    Wow, not been here for a while but couldn't keep away from BG2 again!
    fancied a half orc cleric this time for something different seems to be working well.

    Question for all you Baldurholics... how does the Viconia romance go?
    Its gone real far but i must've said something wrong because i assume she isn't supposed leave the party.

    Half-orcs cant romance anyone :(

    Actually at the end of the romance she will leave the party except if you do your best to convince her to stay, by saying things like that she can't abandon the party like this and that you need her strength to survive. So it could be the conclusion of the romance. I don't know where you are in the romance though.

    Actually I read that you can romance Viccy as a Half-Orc.

    EDIT - Just checked and according to Extremist's guide she will only leave in three ways:
    1)At the beginning of the romance
    2)Nearly at the end of the romance
    3)The end of the romance if you don't convince her to stay (you still succeeded the romance if this happens)
    Only 1 and 2 are signs of the romance being broken. You can easily verify which is the case. If she left her equipment with the party you succesfully ended the romance. If she took the equipment with her, you screwed up.

    Quite far through it methinks but after a quick chat about gorion if i remember rightly in firkrags lair then a short time later she says a few insults and leaves... good job i can go back just b4 that bit :)

    Yes, but extremist's guide also mentions some variables like xxxMatch that I've never been able to find, not with the CLUAConsole, not with SK (or another program that allowed me to see variables, don't remember which). But this is with ToB installed so shouldn't be discussed here. But there are guides that say that Viccy (and only Viccy) can be romanced by male Half-Orcs, so until I find some proof of either (or someone hands me some) I'm assuming both are possibilities.

    Viconia is supposed to be able to romance half-orcs but there is a scripting error that prevents it. Baldurdash fixes this, as does the SP Fixpack.

    The Global "ViconiaMatch" won't exist unless it's been set to 1. In your game, it's still at zero, that's why the CLUAConsole won't catch it.

    Don't use Shadowkeeper to view globals. It doesn't always handle them properly.

    For the record, half-orcs were supposed to be able to romance Viccy, but can't due to a bug. I think the SP fixpack fixes this.
