The "Root Of The Problem" club that you get as a reward from the Druid Grove is +1 / +3 vs. unnatural creatures. Exactly which classes of creature count as "unnatural"?

I learnt from another post that the club's "enchantment" is considered to be +3, which is nice. If it's also +3 to hit and damage against most enemies (because you don't fight against many truly natural enemies) then it would be a much better item than it initially appears to be.

I know undead are 'unnatural' and possibly constructs and demons but I'm not too sure :bad:

You're given the club to go and fight some troll shaman. Does that mean that trolls are considered "unnatural" or just that one troll, I wonder?

If I'm interpreting the effects file correctly, it appears you get the bonus when attacking creatures of type "monster," "undead," and "giant humanoid." I believe these three cover everything except humanoids.

You'd think that it would only be able to hit creatures that were not born - or had a natural birth - like undead, skeletons and minotaurs.

    I guess not.

In PnP unnatural creatures would be creatures that don't exist in the real world (our world). This would include most creatures in BG except humans, dogs, bears, lions etc. But because it's fantasy this list will probably include the races you can pick for your character. Anyone tried to use it on Haer'dalis? He is a thiefling afterall. ;)

The Spirit of the Groove says that trolls are creatures of nature, despite being evil. Thus they should not be considered 'unnatural'.
Thats funny because you get this club when agreeing to fight the troll shamaness. (sp?).

I think creatures are unnatural when they have not been spawned by nature or come from another plane of existence... maybe.

    @ Morningstar

:spin: Woe is me! The shame I feel, the pain... sort of. But I shall let it be as it is, if the admins will it. For your amusement. ;)
