Struck with a sudden urge to write about a game I decided to make it into an FA. If you have played the game remember I actually... haven't. So it will be different - nyah!

The Demons that plagued the land have been banished at a terrible cost - the Creator has been killed and the five remaining Gods have their own realms each at war with the others.

You were brought to this place through you obsession with magic. You are haunted by the havoc you have wrought and the predicament you are now in. You are Eldrod, skin grey from lack of light and an eye missing to your own experiments and a very annoying purple insect hovering nearby.

You stand amidst a battle field, surrounded by the souls of the restless and heathen, you hear a groan and the insect calling you over in a clear masculine voice. You go over and discover an old man, whom you once knew, but you can place no name to his face as he himself knows his name not. With a whimper he turns and looks at you, white eyes look at and through you, blind but seeing everything there.
"You..." He breathed in a panic
"Yes, it is I."
"Who would have thought you would be my savior. What's with this... alien?"
"It is Zyzyx, I conjured him and he will not leave me."
"Your... your voice is harsh and your stance is full of hatred. Your life has caught up with you I see." Gothemirr was silent for a while
"Yes" he hissed bitterly, his foolishness had landed him in this barren place, he felt a tugging from within
"The Gods call you, wizard. Follow them."

You appear in a an ethereal form in a place surrounded by clouds - there are five portals surrounded by what seems to be a structure symbolising something, there is a celestial appirition above each one. over one portal surrounded by a structure signifying trees and a face a woman stands tall and proud, her hair is tied back and she seems noble in her stance, the next one has a plain structure and the appiriton seems a cross between a worm and a starfish, the next has a structure shaped like a tornado and the appirition is like a canister of gas wearing a robe and a balloon glaring around at everyone, the next seems fiery and a fat man dressed in red and wearing a crown was there lighting cigars in his fiery hair hovers above, after that is a structure that screams chaos and reeks of death, the figure above wears tatty black robes, he has long taloned nails resting on a bony face with an eye missing and a look of joy only seen on the most twisted torturer. They spoke

P - I am Persephone, Goddess of Wisdom and Justice, I welcome you here. We are in need of your help. I need you to help me in my quest to create a just land and look after the peasants that work on the land.
L - How noble and foolish! The peasants are only good for being worked. I intend to destroy the forests of Elysium and work them so I can spread my fiery word!
P - Typical! You stand against everything I believe and intend to destroy my lands!
C - Let us not scare off our guest, I am Charnel, God of Death, God of suffering and strife, oh and joy! How can one not find JOY in others suffering!
J - That is enough Charnel, If you ruled along with Pyros there would be no world for the creator to return to.
L - Shut up, WORM!
J - Worm? I'll show you!
S - Halt this nonsence! I am Stratos, stranger, God of the air, choose who you will follow, I know you'll make the right choice... me!
P - Choose stranger, I hope your decision helps this forsaken world.

P - Persephone - the first teleporter
J - James - Second Teleporter
S - Stratos - Third
L - Lord Pyro - Fourth
C - Charnel - Fifth

 

"I choose James, as he is the only being here who seems to care more about the result than the fight itself."

 

Eldrod approached James's teleporter and looked up at the appirition
J - I have a task for you, you see, Persephone, Stratos and I are in one alliance, Pyro and Charnel are with the other. I don't trust stratos though. I would like you however to work with his follower - The Ragman, also a wizard. I need you both to go and drive back a sect of CHarnel - do you accept?

 

Yes, I accept. But I'll need some assistance.

 

J - I'll grant you spells and 20 souls. After you kill something their souls are released and you can gather them. Use magic to then make new creatures out of them. Heathen souls of enemy creatures must be purified by Sacdoctors who you can summon, they are pretty shy though. Are you ready to leave now?

 

"Yes, I am ready to leave."

Eldred (Learnt how to spell it properly!!) steeped through the blue portal before him, the swirling blue mass engulfed him and he shuddered as what can only be described as a peaceful, almost earthly, feeling surrounded him. he jolted and felt as though he had been turned inside out. It ended and he felt himself to check he was in one piece. He was, thankfully, but so was Zyzyx. he looked around, behind him was a large structure, a ring supported by four pillars all of whichc sheltering the main part of the altar.

A large grey person approached him, well, i say person, but perhaps creature would be more fitting, it smiled out a large blue mouth. Eldred wondered where it's neck was. It's legs were short and wide and flat, like it's arms, it was just like a mobile, grey, rock with blue streaks, small black eyes and a beaming smile enough to scare mana out a mage.
"Hail friend, are you the new helper of James?" Eldred stared intently at the mass, it had spoken calmly but it's voice carried the voice of mountains and ancient rock, surely this creature couldn't be a living replica of the landscape?
"That I am, are you the Ragman?" it shook it's head
"I am Grakkus, humble follower of James and protector of the Glebe - the land James rules." Eldred nodded
"I am Eldred, Helping James, I am meant to meet with the Ragman." Grakkus replied in an angry voice like an avalanche
"The Ragman! Pah! I know for a fact the very reason James doesn't trust Stratos is the very fact the Ragman is a Minion of Charnel!" Eldred pondered a moment and watched the creature.
"Tell me of James."
"Ah, he is the God of Earth and peace, allied with Persephone, goddess of Wisdom and Justivce they both wish to make this place better for all." Grakkus' eyes darted around warily and lowered his voice to a whisper "Between you and I, his nickname is Earthworm Jim." Grakkus gave a surprisingly girly giggle before coughing like a bag of coal dropped from a considerable height. Zyzyx came between them
"Shouldn't we be doing something?" Grakkus nodded
"I'll be helping you... both, There is a group of zombies nearby, once villagers Charnels evil Hellmouths came and killed them in streams of death. They left their souls within their corpses though, and now they are out to get whoever get's in their way. Persephone couldn't send anyone to come today, unfortunate, they are usually so talented in this area." Grakkus beckoned Eldred to follow "They are this way. Are you coming? Or would you rather go on your larry? I may provide answers to any questions still," he tapped his head "Still a sparkle in the old rock yet!"

Rock - Magics a rock that flings itself at the enemy of your choice

Manahoar - gives mana quicker (1 soul)
Trogg - Creature resistant to magic (1 soul)
Earthfling - Ranged attack of rocks (1 soul)
Gargoyle - aerial ranged attacker, rocks cause area damage (1 soul)

 

"Very well, I shall come with you. We shall discuss the situation more thoroughly along the way."

 

Grakkus nodded and smiled as he turned to walk on with Eldred by his side.
"What would you like to know?" Eldred thought a moment
"Whatever you are willing to tell." Grakkus sighed like wind-swept sand
"I suppose you would like to know why the Gods war?"
"It would be a start."
"Recently, a few decades I should think by now. The creator banished all the demons at a terrible cost - his life, and the lives of everyone." He paused
"All the demons were banished, but without the creator to lead them, the Gods didn't know what to do. It was persephones' idea to divide the land between the Gods. They can't stand each other, rather keep away they would."
"But... they are allied."
"Allies they may be, friends they are not. Each God reckons they have a right to lead, and by all means the creator was smart in making each one feel important in some way."
"Why does James want to lead?"
"Hmm? Oh well, James wants to lead so he can stop them all arguing, he would stop all the wars and everything... perfect peace... yet..." He looked around warily "I think maybe the others would take advantage, Persephone would like to excersise her alliance and punish Charnel and Pyro for their wrong to the world. She is wise and could be helpful, yet, she already seems to lead in many ways already."

The two apprached a small volcano that was spewing forth blue sparks
"This is a manafount. You can build Manaliths over it, that way only you and your own allies may use it and your manhoars can draw energy in it - the more manaliths the more energy the Manahoars can get. Manahoars are creatures, standing near them will make your mana regenerate faster. Getting lots of manaliths is therefore a good idea. Would you like to build one now?"

"Well, yeah."

 

Grakkus demonstrates the correct gestures to erect a manalith building.

Eldred swirles his arms round in patterns leaving a blue trail, slowly three spires magically construct and tower over the fountain, curving over it, on top of it appears a blue crystal and you know that the mana is now concentrated there ready to be transferred to you and your manahoars. Zyzyx turns to you
"You are low on mana, master." Grakkus nodded
"True, the construction has drained you significantly. Now you have a manalith you may have noticed you have a section called "Creation" underneath "Spells" there is the spell Guardian, create a creature, I recommend a gargoyle, remember to stand before the manalith to regain mana before you do so though."

 

"What other creatures can I create?"

 

Grakkus nods
"As you may have noted before you can create Manahoars, Troggs, Earthflings and Gargoyles. Each one costs 1 soul to create. Troggs are immune to magic from enemy wizards and are melee fighters. Earthflings are short creatures that fire rocks at opponents while Gargoyles are flying creatures who fire rocks below with a ranged effect."
