Scather...!?

    I just got Scather for the first time. From all I've heard it was supposed to be a greatsword. Well, it turned out to be a bastard sword instead. Is this how it was supposed to be or did something go wrong?

    p.s: I have the 3rd official patch + most recent Co8 mod + Moebius's mod installed, in that order

    You know, I met Thrommel's entourage and they showered me with gifts EXCEPT for Scather. Has this happened to anybody else?

    I though I read the Co8 mod shifted Scather to a bastard sword.

    Yes, a couple of times the entourage gave me the gifts but not Scather. Once it was when my party was Chaotic Evil, and once it was when my party's alignment was Chaotic Good but the only person in the party was a Chaotic Neutral Barbarian/Thief/Druid and he had acquired Fragarach already, so maybe that was it. The only other time I've got that far was with a Neutral Good party who didn't have Fragarach, and they did give that party Scather.

    Since both of the swords always hit, it doesn't really matter if you have a proficiency in bastard or great sword. One thing that could is if you have weapon specialization you might lose the bonus damage, but I found that by turning your power attack all the way up you could get some really good damage with the swords.
    They almost make the game too easy.

    Without that sword i would never have been able to kill that final guardian in the fire node :-(
