[IMG] I finished BG1 and loved it, so I got TOTSC & downloaded DSOTSC. I've started a new game. I'm somewhere SW of Beregost (forgot to make a note of the exact area # - duh). Well, I met this runt named Trungle (I think), and he sold me a scroll case. Supposedly, you can put all your extra scrolls in it, then put it in your quick-items, and click on it to get what you need - "Imoen the White" (Thief/Mage) begged me to get it, so I did. Problem is, I can't get it to work...I try to put a scroll in it, but I only end up swapping items. Did the little twerp rip me off? Is all his stuff bogus? If so, he'd better find a real deep hole to hide in!!!!

Sounds like you were conned - there is a guy who sells fake items in the same area as the Xvart village. This could be the guy your talking about. Personally, I dont remember any scroll cases, bu then I haven't played much of TotSC and none of DSotSC, so it might be something new.

OK, found a map. The guy was on map area 3700 (the same map as Bassilus) in the central to north-east part of the map. I remember he also sold me something called "Greater Potion of Healing" (but I haven't tried it yet). I never saw these when I played straight BG1, so he must be from totsc or dsotsc. Sure do appreciate your input, though.

Wildfire: I think you were talking about "Borda" in area 4700, who sells cursed scrolls. Could be the same guy with a diff name I guess. Gets around too much---might have to end his wanderings...

To use the scroll case from DSOTSC you have to put it in your quick items slot and then click on it from the main screen. You'll get a spell cast animation and then it opens up.

So how do you put extra scrolls in it? Do they have to be in the quick-slot, too? I've tried all kinds of stuff, and can't get it to work. I'm ready to beat Trungle with it! If you can get it to work, Capt., please give me more complete instructions.............

    Capt:
This may end up being a double-post, as I posted this reply a few hours ago and it is not showing up.
I've put the case in the quick-slot, gone to the main screen & opened it. Now, how do I put scrolls in it? Every time I try, the pc swaps my case for the scroll. Do I need to put the scrolls in the quick-slot, too? --- right-click describes spell, left-click casts spell, drag & drop swaps scroll/case...I'm baffled!!!

[IMG] I finally got it figured out :D
    1. Put scroll-case in quick-slot
    2. Go to main screen
    3. Click scroll-case
    4. Scroll-case opens(eventually) and looks like a store...your scrolls appear in the "sell" column
    5. "Sell" your scrolls - now they appear in the "buy" column
    6. The scroll-case can be removed from the quick-slot, but you must return it there to access your spells (by "buying" them back)
    7. A couple of 'quirks' & 'warnings':
    A. You can only have ONE copy of each spell in your scroll-case (all other copies will be lost!)
    B. You can actually MAKE MONEY by buying & selling your scrolls to yourself...you sell them for more gold than you buy them for (nice bug, if you want to spend hours for "chump change")

Due to the lack of replies to this query, I think I'm probably the only one who cares about all this, but I chose to share this with you anyway. Maybe someone will use it someday. Besides, it's NOT the MOST worthless topic out there...
