Most know my party by now but yet again it is: Pally, Kelsey, Sola, Jahiera, Jan and Mazzy.

I'm thinking of swapping Mazzy though cause she sucks at long swords. who should i take instead of her (that is good at long swords/katanas, that i can take thru ToB? a good fighter type please.

Well, Valygar's indeedy a good choice. He has procifiences in katana, as well as he has backstabs. So he can strike from the shadows, and still defend himself in battles (being ranger) quite decently. So he's a good choice.

Perhaps the better question is: Why do you need someone who is good with long swords; and why didn't you start pumping proficiency points into long swords when you picked up Mazzy. Mazzy is in my current party as well. We're near the end of SoA and she has grand mastery in flails. Now she comes with ZERO points in flails, but you suck it up by letting her use a short sword for a while, and as soon as she gets two points in flails, you switch her over to flails. For you, it's the same thing, except substitute flails with either long swords or katanas.

I would like both long swords and Katanas. if i have Valygar he already has points in katana so i can put in both katana and long sword easier rather than starting from scratch with two different proficiencies.

So you're planning on dual wielding Valygar? I guess that makes sense - he has two points in that too. As I look at your party, I have to agree that Valygar is the better fit. You already have your paladin, Solaufein, and Jaheira, all of which can tank. Kelsey has plenty of magic, and while Jan is unnecessary for his magic skills (both Kelsey and Solaufein are better) he is essential for his theif skills. About the only thing that Jan isn't particularly good at is backstabbing, and now you have that too.

What kind of paladin are you playing? A kit or just the traditional paladin? So long as it isn't an inquisitor, you'll even have access to most of the useful low level cleric spells that Jaheira lacks - thing like draw upon holy might, protection for evil 10' radius, etc. So this party is pretty stacked.

I'm a cavalier. Aldeth i need your help. i've just met kelsey for the first time and the dialouge options are wierd. none of them make him join me and the way it is written it is as if i'm not really talking to him.
the first thing he says is "no, i've got better things to do."
none of the replys make him join me. pls let me know what to do as quick as you can. thanks.

Edit: i got him to join me by talking to him with Jan though how it happened is a mystery to me. should the cloak that he wears say "no services available" or something similar? cause mine does :(

^You definitely have a mod-conflict, my friend. You need to unisntall everything and re-install mods in correct order, I fear.

Try uninstall/reinstalling Kelsey and see if that gets him on the right path. If it doesn't, list off your mods and how you installed them and let's see if we can straighten this out. :)

Run the file you used to install him. You will have the option to uninstall. Should be in your BG2 directory.

^If your PC is female, then definitely worth it.

But sorcerers are still bad-ass characters if you do them right, so don'T worry!

Kelsey's normal, so with the messed up NPCs you meet, he's a refreshing change.

Try clicking on kelsey and pressing "k". It activates Kelsey's string fixer.
