    [IMG] Hey everyone!

I'm currently in my 2nd run through BG2, and in my first run, I didn't really use my mages to their maximum potential. I was very fighter reliant.

This time, I'm learning the glories of the Sequencer!

I currently have a trigger from Imoen of

    -Greater Malison
    -Slow
    -Chromatic Orb

I just simply wanted to ask those who always keep a general
    1) minor sequencer
    2) spell seqeuncer and
    3) spell trigger

and what spells do you folk store in them?

Been a long time since I used them all to their maximum.

Minor Spell Sequencer: 2 Magic Missile, after lvl 12: 2 Chromatic Orbs (chance to slay instantly).

Spell Sequencer: If I'm playing solo/very few NPCs/going into a mage battle, then some protection spells. Well, usally that anyway, or 3 Chromatic Orbs :)

Spell Trigger: 3 Pierce Magic is nice. Putting Protections in this one works excellent with the Chain Contingecy: When you see an enemy, you get Spell Turning, Globe of Invurnability, Improved Mantle, Mislead, Spell Deflection, Improved Invisibility or yourself :) Though that's for soloing/soloing a battle. When you're in a party, you normaly got meattanks in front, so the offensive variations works better.

With Cleric/Mages though, you can get extremly powerful combos.

I've had Greater Malisonx2 and a Chromatic Orb a few times in a Trigger. Pretty decent for dealing with tough single enemies.

My fave is generally something like Fireballx3 which can be really devastating at higher levels. 15d6 x3 = 45d6! Set it off and watch the enemies fall by the dozen.

For my cleric mages, especially my higher level ones, I'll create a chain contingency with Heal, Protection from Magic Weapons and Stoneskin to go off once their HP gets to 25%. For my fighter mages, the chain contingency holds various protection spells like Prot. from Magical Weapons, Globe of Invulnerability and True Sight to activate when an enemy is sighted or once damage is taken.

I use contingencies for personal/group protection, buffs, etc. I use sequencers for attacks (lower resistance, greater malison, etc). This keeps me from having to remember what I have stored where.

And do not do something like this

Greater malison does not stack with itself, so more than one in a trigger is pointless. If it's a cleric-mage, then you could use greater malison with doom, as they do stack.

It doesn't stack? Damn. I was sure I read somewhere that it did. Maybe I was thinking of something else...

I once had both Imoen and Aerie with 3x Horrid Wilting in their CCs....blew the absolute stuffing out of Shangalar as soon as he appeared.

Of course that was a total waste of my Horrid Wiltings but it was nice to see-

    Shangalar: Stop.
    Shangalar: Death

The low hp contiengecys can be made quite nice as said before, though I'd go with Mislead or Shadow door instead ;)

for the minor spell sequencer, I've found giving Aerie doom + chromatic orb to work quite well, kind of a cheap (and effective) finger o' death...

@CamDawg - I believe an unpatched game does allow for Greater Malison to stack.

I thought that was only Doom that stacked, not GM?
