I'm pretty familiar with the use of Shadow Keeper but i hear everyone speaking of editing the multiclasses somthing I've never been able to master. How do you do this i thought it was only possible to edit single or dualled as you have to pick their class from the little tab thing and that doesn't have any cheat multi classes. Thanks for any help to an ignorant fool.

In the characteristics tab, there is an option called class. This is where you can set multiclasses. You can't cheat however, because there are no false multiclasses selectable. However, you can assign a kit to one of your classes with the kit option.
This way you could make a kensai/mage multiclass, or a fighter/assassin, or a wizardslayer/thief. That's it though, with SK you can never create things like a sorcerer/fighter or a thief/ranger or something.

Old topic, I know, but the one that best fits my question. I've asked this on the Shadowkeeper forums as well, but it's pretty silent over there. Anyway, here goes:

I'm relatively new to Shadowkeeper. I'm trying to turn Imoen into a multi-classed mage/thief, but no matter what I do she always appears as a dual-class.

At first i realized I hadn't changed her race from Human, but even after trying elf and half-elf, no dice. I also tried changing her to elf, saving and loading, single classing her as a thief, saving and loading, and then change her over to multi mage/thief. But, she still shows up as dual-classed. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

This doesn't really answer your question (and I don't know the answer), but the Alternate NPC mod has a multi-classed version of Imoen. You can find it in this list

Bah, nothing wrong with SK. Sure, it's a powergaming tool, but so what, as long as you have fun with your game.

SK is not a power gamers tool.... well OK, it is, but it can also be a RP tool. Not that many people will agree with me but editing classes to make them multi fighter/ Assassin or Kensai / Mage or whatever floats your boat, is in my eyes a way of roleplaying. Er, i'll leave it there so I don't dig my hole any deeper :p

Thanks! Just the sort of thing I was looking for if SK didn't work for what I wanted. And it even works with all my mods installed!

Try this. I explain how I do it, and doing it my way you should be able to avoid all the hassle involved when saving a char inmidst of the game and then to edit it manually - that almost certainly leads to bugs.

No, I agree with you Malovae. SK definitely has its uses to make a more interesting gaming experience.

I use SK for cosmetic changes to my character that won't really augment my character for an unfair advantage (which is cheating). Some examples: making an Elf a Paladin; giving my character cooler colors not available from the rather bland color pallete you get at character creation; assigning my archer a thief avatar, because I think hoods look cool; or giving my Fighter/Mage a mage avatar because I think a character wearing a robe should LOOK like they're wearing a robe; etc.

Creating odd multiclasses is pushing it, but not all that outlandish. If it's legal in 3rd edition, experimenting a little in 2nd edition won't hurt much. As long as you aren't doing anything that makes your character super-human, I don't see the harm. Let's face it - I think we can all agree there are a ton of rules in 2nd edition that don't make any sense (like non-humans not being able to be Paladins), so much so that in 3rd edition they don't exist anymore. Using SK to overstep these predecated rules is perfectly acceptable IMO.

Beefing up with godlike stats, giving yourself tons of money, assigning weapons to a character you didn't buy or find fairly are some examples of abusing SK, obviously. SK is only as "evil" as the one who uses it.

Shadow Keeper is an editor and browser... and can be the tool of powergamers, yes, but since it was used by modders sometimes, it is not a powergamer tool. Everyone uses it for what (s)he wants to. For example, it can be used only for browsing creatures, items, spells.

For those players, who aren't satisfied with the abilities of SK, I can bravely recommend other modding tools such as Near Infinity, DLTCEP and IEEP2 (the final version of the last one will be released soon, I have tested the beta and it was excellent). They are modding tools, but their use is not much harder than SK's, you can learn to use them in relatively short time.

OK, for the record, I agree with everything that Malovae, Death Rabbit and Baronius have said. When I said SK was a powergaming tool, I didn't mean it was only a PG'ing tool (although I didn't really make that clear). I was just reacting to Sarevok-'s comment which I interpreted (perhaps incorrectly) as a knock against powergamers who use SK to make their characters even more powerful. My position is, and always has been, play the game in whatever way you get the most enjoyment out of it.

My current SOA-only game (which I am almost done with) is soling a m/c F/M/T. I used SK to make the fighter a kensai, and to change the class to a halfling (for the Con-based saves). And I took the XP cap off. Multi-classed grand-mastery and Unnerfed GM. Dualling C'Fury (main) and Pitchwife (from Item Upgrade - off hand). And using a bunch of other high-powered equipment. And I'm playing Tactics mod on insane difficulty. If that's not powergaming, I don't know what is. :D
