    Hello Everybody,

I'm reading this board for a long time, but this is my first mail.

Has anybody noticed that the in the game you have your shield in the RIGHT hand, and your weapon in your left hand? why is that? (also by dualwielding).

And WHY can't you DC a Stalker? Found 1 topic about it, but no answer.

What do you mean about sheild in right hand?
Do you mean whenyou see your char in the game or in the inventory?
As far as I can remember the sheild is in left hand in the inventory. On the paperdoll I mean.
    Never really thought about it...
    ah, nm.

The shield is on the right side of the paper doll, but isn't the doll facing you? That would mean the shield is in the left hand

OK, i have tested a bit, and discovered something VERY strange: on the paperdoll you have your shield in your LEFT hand. Now go and play. If (i.e.) Korgan walks to the right, he has his shield in his RIGHT hand! but, if you let him walk to the left, he has his shield in the LEFT hand! Strange.....

Correct, but now back to the topic. Most games have the weapon in the right hand, partly because that's what most people are. 90% of the world's people are right-handed if I remember reading that correctly.

Indeed, and it's up to the other 10% of us to keep things running smoothly.

I'd like to see a game in which your character is either left or right handed, or amidextrous (with penalties of course). Being a fencer, I'll use that as my example. Left handed fencers have quite an advantage over their right-handed counterparts simply because "righties" are not use to dealing with constant attacks to the right flank on top of the fact that the south-paw's 6 is *nearly* a right handed fellow's 4. I imagine this basic rule applies to most forms of melee-related combat. So, a game in which your character could be a lefty and reap the rewards of a large bonus to hit or be a right-hander and be ... um ... easier for left-handed people to hit, would be a good, fun game.

Ah, fencing, the great equalizer of the hand-aptitude playing field.

Well, you could say that the ambidextrous with penalties is akin to dual wielding. Never thought of it that way Kyu. But, if everyone knew about that, and started fighting left-handed, wouldn't right-handed people have the advantage then?

Very true, this is why many of the greatest fencers were/are right-handed, but capable of fencing left-handed. But it's so enormously difficult to learn to fence with your offhand that 99% of the people just don't try. Besides, people like to perfect their "onhand" first, and that alone can take a lifetime.

[IMG] OK. I have an answer! They are both left and right handed! When they are facing you they have it in the left hand. When They turn around The sword/shield is in the right hand. SO! There is the answer right there! Try It, it is funny!

LMAO. Nice one. Problem is, you can't equip a weapon in the off hand and a shield in the main slot. If you could, you've have people walking around with two shields and no weapons.
