shield or single weapon?

    In general, whats better: using a shield with all of the special effects, or single weapon with the critical hit and the other affect?

    I vote for shield :D

    I think the extra AC (5 or so) comes more handy than that one-point-increase-critical hit. But again it depends the style you play. If you are an offensive guy you might find the one weapon thing very useful. And so on and on...

    For an assassin no doubt the single weapon is better. Think of the backstab 10% tripple damage. Easy to switch between any ranged and melee weapon. If you are using shiled only the returning daggers left...

    But for a celric, who can save the party, who can heal others the defense is more important.
