Should I get the Patch?

    well, i've had bg and bg2 for sometime now and haven't encountered any bugs (well none that i have noticed) should i get the patch or do i need the patch?

    You might as well get the patch, because when you do find a bug, you're gonna be annoyed. 'Tis better to be safe than sorry, and AFAIK the patch does not cause any bugs itself either.

    No seriously, I've had no problems with the patch and it did fix some things so I say get it!
    There are still literally a hundred bugs in the game after the patch. You can live with them just as you can live with a non-patched BG2. THe bugs aren't that bad.
