    Hi.

I have played other Black Isle game like Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, etc, and have never questioned wether I should have 6 people in my party. I am now and was wonder wether I should or is it better to have less?

Also how do you backstab with a Rogue?

If you have the patience to give all of your characters a few levels of Fighter, then by god, take four. You'll get experience faster, though the game will likely be a lot harder.

If you're more interested in a "classic" D&D party, or just got the game and want to expirement with as many classes as you can, go with six. It takes longer to level the group up, but you won't regret it.

Finally, to backstab...first, have your Thief sneak, then walk up to an enemy and attack them. If it hits, congratulations, you've backstabbed. If it misses, you haven't. It's basically just like BG's, except the interface is different.

You can also get sneak attacks in regular melee as long as you are behind a foe that is fighting someone else. In fact, its much easier to get a sneak attack in this situation in my experience.

The main problem with sneak attack early on is that you don't generally have a good attack bonus and therefore miss a lot on your 'backstab' attacks.

Well, in my experience, even if you are in stealth mode, it's not a sneak attack if you score a hit face-on. You have to be at the backside of the opponent to made the sneak attack damage...

I've got a rogue question of my own...

How the hell do you disarm traps? I search for the trap, I find the trap, I click on the Thief Abilities icon...and the pointer's grayed out when I move it over the trap. Am I missing something? :p

Set a right quick shortcut to the menu. I think you right click on one of the useless abilities and the get to the right one.

Actually, the higher your level, the less experience you get per fight, so experience is not an issue when considering how many people you want in the party. I would recommend going with the full six, otherwise the game will be very difficult, but go with whatever you think would be the most fun.
