[IMG] Everything I've read says that after the battle between the fallen paladins and the smugglers you get to talk to one of them about retrieving an item for them. I watched the battle until it got down to 1 smuggler with a mace who whaled on 4 paladins until she killed them all. They just stood there without striking back. When she finished with each one she would go to the next and cast a mass cure to heal him and make some comment about making his death slower (I thought that was kinda cool). While this was going on I tried to chat with the leader of the group and he said he couldn't talk to me at the moment. He watched his men get slaughtered until she came up to him and killed him too. Since she only hit about once per every 5 swings of her mace this took about 15 minutes to kill everyone...got a little boring.

Now what do I do??? I've checked the faqs and the paladins were supposed to win I think. I've saved since then and I can't go back to help kill her. Is there anyway to inish this quest? I'd rather not hack to get the Gloves of Healing. Is there any other quest to get from Sir Ryan Trawl that depends on completing this one?

Sorry, can't help much other than to say I actually helped the Fallen Paladins in their fight. In this way the smugglers were destroyed easily. If you haven't got an earlier save game then it doesn't help - sorry :(

Of course if you are especially good with software, I guess you could use one of the editor programs to change the variables relating to this quest so that the game replays it for you. Unfortunately, I have next to no idea how you would actually do this.

As to other quests depending on this one, I don't think so (unless you are a Paladin in which case I don't know). It might make getting some help from the Paladins later in the game more difficult though. If it's any compensation, the gloves of healing are a bit of a waste of time.

[IMG] The quest was actually given to Anomen after being raised to knighthood. My paladin's quest is to go to the Umar Hills. I'm getting ready to dump Anomen for Aerie anyway. I'm getting tired of his holier-than-thou attitude.

I'm pretty sure the programmers intended for you to help with the battle. When there is only one left, I think that the fallen paladins stop fighting as a subtle encouragement for you to join the fray. If you are responsible for the deaths of at least one of the smugglers, you can legitimately role play the front that you are trying to establish as an aid to the fallen paladins.

    That's why.

I indeed had the same problem that one of the Smugglers survived and she killed some paladins because they didn't fight back. Indeed help the paladins, that makes the fight very short.

[IMG] Isn't Balmung the name of King Alric's great sword in MYTH 2, Soulblighter?

[IMG] My quandry was that they were "fallen". Who to support? I can't save the game with a battle going on so I had to sit there and watch to see what would happen. Oh well, I don't think it was critical since it was Anomen's quest and not my paladins.

As to the Tin Man's question: I've never played Myth 2 so I can't answer that. Balmung has a long history in Norse mythology. It was a sword used my Odin and Sigmund at various times. Siegfried (slayer of the Nibelung dwarves) also used it to kill the dragon Fafnir.

I just received this quest from the knight whassisname at the Order of R.H. He says to gain the confidence of Anarg, so I guess that means to lay into the other party!
