Single vs. Multi

Hi All,

I am new to the board and this is probably a stupid question but... WHat is the difference between single and multi player games other than the fact that you can set up your own party?

Is there any effects on the overall ending of the game. Will there be any dificulties with putting the expansion on?

If anyone could please advise me on these (or anything else I should know) I would greatly appriciate it.

As much as i played it was completely same except assigning players to self before loading a game and creating your own mute party.

But i advise you to create a party in multiplayer and then save it. Then go to your BG2 folder and another folder called "mpsave" and then just cut the saved game from there and paste it into your "save" folder.
You'll have less trouble that way.

You can get to expansion as a single player game or as multiplayer. Just import the game.

Well, if you're using your very own hand-crafted characters, that means the game is a tad less interesting, what without the inter-character dialogue. Also, you don't get the NPC-related quests. Furthermore, having a certain character in the group might lead you to getting a cool item or two. But as far as I know, that's it.

However, if you just create four or five custom characters you will still be able to do every NPC quest and still can get romances and the like.

I think I am going to look at making about 4 characters. This leaves room for NPC specific questing.
