I would like to start a thread about paintball, so if anyone has any interesting stories about their experiences with paintball (nastiest wound best shot or favourite tactic), please share.

I'll start, my most hidious wound was on my first game where I took a shot from 6m out that hit me in the soft spot just beneath my ribcage on my left side which was bleeding. After 2 months, there is still a really noticable scar there. My best shot was today where I managed to get a round through a small hole in a fence to hit the person on the other side. I have also hammered one of my friends on the top of the head from about 30m out. the best tactic that i have used was a I managed to creep around behind the other team who were mostly hiding behind a long fence and quickly took 6 or 7 people out before I finally got shot.

I encourage more people to get into the sport. Sure it does hurt a bit when you get hit in close range but it is still one of the best sports around

 

Yeah, it's real good fun paintballing.

I remember the last time I went, I managed to shoot somebody on the back of the neck. Next game, he managed to trip me up, then pepper my back with about a dozen shots from point blank range. My back was like a dot-to-dot puzzle!

 

You'd hate playing with me. If i get shot, i'll be like "hell no, i'm all riled up on coke, you can't kill me". Stuff like that.

 

Hehe, I can relate to that guy that you shot in the neck Barmy, the very first shot I took was to the wind pipe from about 15 metres out and I was not happy to say the least. The guy that shot me payed for it though as I pegged him in the back of the legs a few times.

 

So this is about paintball? So what is 'skirmish' then?

 

I haven't been paintballing for a while now, as most of my friends I went with are now posted overseas. We played in Amry camo-gear, used proper smoke-bombs and used paint grenades to great effect. And woe betide anybody cheating against us, the usual punishment was to tight-tie them to trees and use them for target practice, and then leave them.

 

Funny how most of the talk here is about how much it hurts, rather than how much fun it is.

 

It only hurts if you take a shot to a tender spot, but they supply a heap of protection if you are safety conscious. All you really need is a box though.
We did something similar to what you did DarkStrider and had someone run down the centre of the field with everone else lined up on each side 10 metres out from where he was running. We counted 53 hits on him.
