OK, this may seem weird but what are some words in languages other than english that mean smell or one of its synonyms. The elvish words yolo and holmë don't realy suit the whole perfume thing. Just in case your wondering its for an assignment

Smell in swedish: Lukta, works all the time but is more 'vulgar' than dofta which is used for perfume or the smell of a nice dinner or some such.

In English, there's aroma, which generally means something good (like the aroma coming from a bakery) and odor which makes me think of something unpleasant, like foot or armpit odor.

When something smells really bad, most Dutch people simply say: wat een kutlucht.
