So, what've I been up to?

As some of you may or may not have noticed, I am not around much anymore compared to what I used to be. There was a time where I had over 40 posts per day, now I should be happy if I do that in two or three months. The reasons to this are many; I've moved on to greener pastures(Ask Fara about that, he was the one that fooled me to another forum ), I've gained other interests than D&D(although, it is still one of my favorite ones), and finally, the continued requests of members of this forum that I should, indeed, leave this place. While I normally wouldn't care, I do understand some of their points, that I'm distrupting of the peace around here and that I have a tendency to break many of the rules(something parts of the staff have reminded me of as well), so I really don't have many reasons to stick around other than the small social circle I like to chat with. However, most of this circle have like I, moved on, so the only reason I am still around is for the PnP forum, Playground forum, and Sports forum.

Anyway, since I still got a few of my buds around that I have recognized, I thought that as a former regular here that have been around for many years now I could update y'all on my current situation.

First off, I moved out of home in August last year. Worked well enough, except that I haven't been able to find a job and I am now dirt-poor. Oh well. God giveth, God taketh.

Then, lots of stuff have happened. Since I moved over the country, from Alingsås to Uppsala(over 450 kilometres), I lost all my PnP and LAN buddies so now I have over 20 PnP books sitting around collecting dust. =/ Thinking of selling them on eBay, but I don't know, I may keep them around.

Other than this, I also got into the elections that were held in Sweden this year, and I planned to stand as a candidate for the Pirate Party. However, logistical errors made me unable to do that, as well as the relative failure of our party, so no political career for me. Oh well, I'll keep working underground, organizing strikes and demonstrations like I've done for the last three and a half years.

Other than Christmas, where I found out that my Grandmother and Grandfather each had probably five years left to live, as well as my Grandmother's younger half-brother who lives in Germany, so that was kinda a downer, as I love them all and my grandparents have been very nice to me all my life and supported me. However, my grandfather is a protestant and my grandmother is a catholic so I know they are headed to the better realms whenever their time is due. They've lived long and good, and I hope they do not regret anything in their lives. But, they are not dead yet, so I hope that I get many more chances to meet them and show my appreciation as good as I can.

Anyway, as I was saying, other than this Christmas, I haven't really been home. This is due to a fight with my mother and her husband where I completely disowned them and now haven't talked with them for half a year. No e-mails, no phonecalls, no SMS, no nothing, and I do not regret it for a bit. They have mentally abused me for the last ten years and have threatened me with both beatings and death(the former something they actually did), and they do not deserve any respect. I've tried to love them, I really have, but they've wronged me over and over and my patience is up.

And to end all of this on a happy note, even though this post isn't really ment to be depressing at all, my girlfriend since almost four years back and I got engaged on the first of January this year, and we are planning to get married in May next year or so, and we're moving in together by this April if everything goes through. Also, since we're nerds and all that, we are planning to have an Elvish-themed wedding, but still with the Christian base in all of it. I still haven't got used to the engagement rings, they look wierd. =)

So, all and all, everything's fine with me. Life is better than it ever has, and I'm glad to see this place is still around.

EDIT: No, I'm not leaving this place permamently, I just thought I should update those(if any ) that may be interested of my current whereabouts where I am and what I do these days. Keep on rollin'!

Seriously, hope the bad things sort themselves out (which these things have a good habit of doing matey, chin up). Glad it's still going well with the missus and congratulations on the engagement!

Go out, get drunk, have a laugh with mates, stay happy and we'll see you around here again soon... won't we?

 

Oh no! He hasn't taken you THERE?! Yes... yes, he has. I've seen you there. Seems the place wasn't as apealling to me than SP is. I was a member there for a while, but I hardly posted.

Seems you actually got a life, man: Good things, bad things. Got to take them both. I never seem to enjoy the good things that much without bad things happening to me. Still I hope all will work out for the good for you, of course.

Good to see that you and the girl are still doing great.

Hang around, man. You may have heared people complaining about your activities here, but on the other hand, people who enjoy your companie don't always say so.

Oh well... It's not that you're gone or something, so we don't really have to worry.
