right, this is supposed to be a given but I've gotten a couple of suggestions that turn out to be ToB-required installments.

Out of desperation I just tried to re-install my messed up ToB. Result: My SoA ****ed up and now I have to manually uninstall everything and re-install it again :bang:

so.. does anyone have any suggestions for new npc, kit or quest mods? Compatible with an SoA-ONLY game? The only ones I have this far are Unfinished Business v14, Quest Pack v2.21 and Neh'taniel vAlpha 2.0. I'd appreciate any suggestions that are compatible with these mods (which seem to be compatible with everything) and that are bug-free.

    Thanks guys.

And, for the last time, Merry Xmas :)

You have lots of choices. I reccomend Ashes of Embers for the universal weapons component, Ding0 tweak, virtue, G3 tweaks, anything Cliffete wrote, Def Jam, Minsc Kit, Kelsey, Banter Packs, Flirt Packs, and The G3 anniversary mod. While not every single component from every mod I mentioned will be compatible, it isn't something you need to worry about. You will be able to use most components from the mods I reccomended and the installer won't install ToB only mods onto your game, so don't worry about messing your game up. Nowadays, unless a mod is actually modifying ToB it is going to be useable on SoA only, as well. You can play any mod you want to, for the most part. Keto is an exception because it uses some spawning commands that don't exist in SoA. If you are looking for a bug free game, though, I wouldn't be playing Neh'taniel. It appears to be pre-beta.

Thanks Drew, I'm actually thinking about virtue and the banter and flirt packs. (have already played through kelsey and the g3 anniv mod) but what are the mods clifette did? and what is the def jam mod? i've gone to a quite a number of sites recently looking for mods and neither have come up..

i'd agree with the neh'taniel mod as well, but the premise is just too promising to pass up and as of the most recent update on the forum (which was as recent as a few months ago) all the parts that are in it should work bug-free and the only reason its released as an alpha is because a lot of the stuff they'd like to add to it, hasn't been yet.

I'd love to check out keto and saerilith but my ToB is really messed up. And Khadion and Brythe look awesome (as upcoming mods).

also, does anyone know anything about the Tortured Souls mod? Does it require ToB? bec that may be why it refuses to install..

The pocket plane group modlist. If you ever want to find a mod and aren't sure where to go, go there. They have links to everything. Def Jam is an experience reduction mod. It reduces the (often absurd) experience you get for completing quests or using thieving abilities, scribing scrolls, etc. It is very customisable so you can set the experience levels for each thing to whatever you think is reasonable. Cliffete authored the Mod for the orderly (adds a keychain to the game) and Every Mod and Dog. This one adds some fun little encounters to the game in order to recapture some of the whimsy found in BG1 missing from BG2. She is also the author of the Minsc quest added by UB. Regarding Tortured Souls.....I didn't see any indication one way or the other from the site or the readme. I have, however, not heard glowing reviews about that particular mod.
