Sola and a item Conflict!

    [​IMG] I got Solaufein for the first time. He is cool, powerful, has a romance (yes my PC is male so what? He does not call me 'my lady' like Anomen!) and has very challenging battles and col rewards or so I heard.

    I gave him two stars in axe proficiency. And he equipped a vorpal +5 axe, scavenged from Improved Asylum party's dwarf.

    But when he equips it, Sola can not buff himself. He can't cast vital spells like Stoneskin, Mirror Image, PfromMagic weapons or any other spell which targets the caster.

    I was furious. Then I understood the fact.

    The axe grants protection from elves. Strange, if one equips the axe elves can never target him with attacks or spells. And Sola is elf. So he can NOT target himself with Stoneskin and such! AAGH it is annoying!

    So I did what? I SKed Sola to a half-elf and it worked! YAY!

    Should I feel guilty? I had no choice! Sola had to wield that weapon!

    He wields that axe and a longsword named Freedom's call, it grants freedom of movement, and immunity to level drain. Oh and his axe gives +50 MR! He has 100+ MR now! Which is VERY useful! Add the fact that he can protect himself with Stoneskin, MImages, PfromMagic weapons etc. And with some mod items he has a AC of -24! :eek: Believe it or not!

    He is by no means a better replacement than the good old Minsc&Boo. Sorry guys I love you so much but I need power. :roll:

    Anyway, did I do the right thing? Will it cause more bugs? I don't want bugs! What do you think?

    Yes, you cheated. :p If the axe provides protection from elves (no targetting, etc.), then Sola shouldn't have even been able to recognize the axe's prescence, much less equip it. And I can only imagine the bugs that might pop up if anything is dependant on Sola being an elf. Give the axe to someone else.
